Hope it helps Common doubt would be - why P2 pressure does negative work? First thing is pressure is a scalar quantity , it doesn't have direction . ..let's consider the free surface at end 1 ..the free surface at end 1 will have net inward force bcoz of the intermolecular forces on particles of free surface by the particles behind it so force on end 1 is inward in direction so positive work On end 2 the free surface will have a direction inward leftward due to the intermolecular forces on it due to the particles behind it inside the pipe....so force 2 is in opp direction of motion of water molecules...so it has negative work...

Pressure has direction...which is normal to surface(for a non viscous fluid)... because of not following vector law of addition it is a scalar quantity
@utkarshiitbhu42042 жыл бұрын
@@namanbartia6845 no Pressure acts in all direction It just happens that on a surface some gets cancelled out and u get the one which is normal to the surface

i was not able to unerstand on what basis we took work of p2 negative why p2 is opposing the flow??
@physicsgalaxyworld8 жыл бұрын
For the considered fluid body in the pipe line shown, P2 is the pressure at the outer edge of the tube... thats why it is considered opposing the flow coming out of tube...

Sir here P2 is fluid pressure by an outside force ( or atm) or the fuid pressure due to the push of flowing water. Sir i am not getting it .🤔🤔

It is the pressure of the fluid to the right. If it were atmospheric pressure, then we wouldn't have used different notations (P1 & P2).

In region 2, direction of pressure is on left side right? Meaning force per unit volume is Acting against the velocty of fluid flow & that is why work done is negative ?
@vishalsinghrajput68045 жыл бұрын
Sir as pressure due to fluid is multidirectional i mean pressure is directed in all direction So that in case of surface it is directed always from open end to inner fluid media so that p2 in case of upper surface is opposing the flow and p1 in case of lower surface increases the flow ? Please sir is it correct ?
