Considering there are people who believe in flat earth I wouldn’t be surprised if there are adults who believe this would work.

I get questions about this kind of thing sometimes. My first question, before diving into the actual science (and hey, who doesn't like playing with magnets?) is What's more likely? Option A or B? A: Somebody came up with this idea, which would instantly make them a trillionaire, solve the climate crisis, and win them Nobels in physics and peace, but decided to make a youtube video giving the idea away. Nobody has since used the idea to become a trillionaire, climate, Nobels etc... B: This is a faked video.
