Hello! I noticed you hadn't posted in some time. I understand that making videos can be challenging but I wanted to share my thanks and view that regardless of immediate feedback, the important thing is that your contribution exists. Learning to me is an experience, I'm always fascinated by the fact that we can read the same sentence 100 times and possibly derive better/different understanding each time. I think teachers/teaching follow the same phenomenon. Sometimes you're the person someone needs in order to provide the perspective that "clicks". Your comment here has lead to one more subscriber/viewer. Thank you for your contributions in elevating our minds

Hi Paul. Great explanation. Indeed. However, the physic as a such wouldn't be a physic without surprises. There are several things that are not fit the observation of relativity. One of them I want to mention here is the fly by anomaly. There is an interesting work: Probing the Flyby Anomaly with the future STE-QUEST mission, written by Jorge Pa ́ramos and Gerald Hechenblaikner. The abstract: Abstract In this study, we demonstrate that the flyby anomaly, an unexpected acceleration detected in some of the gravitational assists of the Galileo, NEAR, Cassini and Rosetta spacecraft, could be probed by accurate orbital tracking available in the proposed Space-Time Explorer and Quantum Equivalence Principle Space Test (STE- QUEST); following a recent work, we focus on the similarity between an hyperbolic flyby and the perigee passage in a highly elliptic orbit of the latter, as well as its Global Navigation Satellite System precise orbital determination capabilities. And, I have to tell, it is an excellent thing by itself. The theory of relativity works, relativistic corrections for GPS are en excellent example of it, but simultaneously, does not work as it should using article above!

What if there were a paved road that encircled the Earth at the equator. You get in a car with a hanging ball and begin to accelerate down the road and of course the ball swings back. Now repeat the experiment but instead of accelerating the car you accelerate the Earth's rotation beneath the car. I assume that the hanging ball will not swing back in that case. Would that be an effective experiment to determine if you were actually moving? Wouldn't the only apparent difference between the two cases be the state of the hanging ball?

So what is the importance of havinh frame of reference in the study motion?
@PhysicsHigh
@PhysicsHigh 4 жыл бұрын
Good question In essence it forms the basis how we measure. We always measure from the observers perspective. Their frame of reference. An example will help. I child a ball upwards on a train platform as two trains pass going in opposite directions. What the ball appears to do from a passenger on each train as well as the child will all be different but all are correct. They are relative to the observer. So if I want to compare what they observe then I need to know about what each frame of reference is doing relative to me and each other. An understanding of frames of reference also forms the basis of understating Einstein’s theory of relativity. I do suggest looking in my videos on that.

sir, if two references are accelerating in same acceleration in respect of a inertial reference... can those 2 accelerating reference can tell they are non inertial in respect of themselves or they are inertial in respect of themselves? I hope they are stationary in respect of themselves

CHALLENGE to anyone who thinks earth is in an inertial frame of reference and "free falling" objects are an accelerated frame of reference......... Let us say you are in an elevator WITH NO WINDOWS on the moon so there is no air resistance to falling. And the rope holding the elevator breaks on the 500th floor and you and the elevator starts "free falling". And lets say i am in a space ship in outer space moving at constant velocity. WE BOTH WOULD SAY I AM IN AN INERTIAL FRAME. Now you say "free falling" is an accelerated frame of reference. So YOU ARE SAYING we would be in DIFFERENT frames of reference......you in an accelerated frame and me in an inertial frame. SO YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO PROVE IT EXPERIMENTALLY...RIGHT??????????????????????? Cause if we do identical physics experiments there should be at least ONE experiment where we get different results.....right. WE BOTH AGREE WITH THAT RIGHT?????????????? So tell me what experiment would you do to PROVE you were in an accelerated frame of reference while you are "free falling" inside your elevator???????????? If you can NOT think of an experiment that would give us different results then you must admit that "free fall" is an inertial frame because WE BOTH AGREE THAT me in a space ship in outer space moving at constant velocity is AN INTERTIAL FRAME. And guess what. If you .......while in your "free falling" elevator would hold a ball out and let go of the ball with out applying any force to the ball. Guess what the ball will just float and not move relative to you. Just like it would for me in my space ship. So that would be the same result. What experiment will you tell me about that gives different results???????????

I am confused and no one will help me. (1) I am told there is only ONE type of inertial frame of reference. (2) meaning if i do a physics experiment in ANY inertial frame i will get the SAME RESULTS no matter what inertial frame i am in (3) Disregarding earth spinning and angular momentum (acceleration) I am told earth is an inertial frame. (4) I am told being in outer space at a constant velocity is ALSO an inertial frame. OK THESE STATEMENTS CONTRADICT ONE ANOTHER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Because if that were ALL true then that would mean that i could do physics experiments in outer space (at a constant velocity) and then do the SAME PHYSICS EXPERIMENT on earth and get the SAME RESULTS. But that IS NOT TRUE. THAT IS A LIE. If i am in outer space(at constant velocity) and i hold a ball out and let go of the ball with out throwing it or pushing it in any direction the ball will just float there. But on earth if i do the SAME experiment the ball will fall to the ground GIVING ME A DIFFERENT RESULT. So there is either more than one TYPE of inertial frame of reference and each type has its own physics OR earth is NOT an inertial frame of reference. SO WHICH IS IT ???????????? Why wont any one answer me???????

Strictly speaking no. The sun itself is moving around the galaxy in orbit and so locally it can be seen as going at a constant velocity but like all stars are actually experiencing centripetal acceleration.

Thanks for your feedback. You are right that looking at the camera can be distracting, and can be a risk. This is my first car video, and probably my only one since it directly relates to the topic. However, if I did another I would certainly rethink how I would film it, if at all, whilst moving.

Parking lot, abandoned airport. You can put up tall cardboard on the bed of a pickup truck to make a box. Duck tape it and secure your bowling ball above it. If the cardboard was painted black with no holes, you wouldn't be able to use the background to view movement. In your current video, i used my fingers to block your Windows. Unless you said "I'm not moving" or "I'm moving," i couldn't tell once i blocked the Windows :) (well, unless you turned ofc) P.s. Have you done a video on "what rolls down faster: Hollow cylinder or solid cylinder?"
@PhysicsHigh

Good idea. Though I need a truck 🤓 Rolling solid and hollow rods? No not yet but good idea. At some stage I plan to do.more rotational mechanics and esp moment of inertia so that will fit right in.

.oneffunes. Ezekiel 1:18 As for their rings, ( The beginning and the end the first and the last ) they were so high ( They transcend thought. Rom 11:33 past finding out ) that they were dreadful; ( Man fierce what he Doesn’t understand ) and their rings ( The beginning and the end ) were full of eyes ( The first and the last ) round ( The circumference of the beginning and the end ) about ( In the diameter of the beginning and the end ) them four. ( The beginning and the end the first and the last. ) .oneffunes. Creation is relevant to the structure of God, and it’s not the other way around. It doesn’t matter how you move or where you are in the structure of God, the center is Equal to the circumference and in it’s diameter, therefore if you are moving through the structure of God, it doesn’t matter where you are or how you move I AM always stationary, I Am the ultimate inertial frame of reference in and inside my creation. Case in point, If you were moving through creation In a car and I was standing on the outside of that car as the creator creation would be passing you but I would be static relevant to you and you to me the law of physics would be the same for you! But I would transcend The law of physics because my center is equal to my circumference and diameter.
