Some of the kinetic energy (due to vibration) of the particles of our hand is transferred to the nearby particle of less kinetic energy and thus, the particles of our hand will have less kinetic energy i.e. less vibration. Hence, the temperature decreases.

...and the hand cools down. Perfect analysis: Well done Adnan :-)

When our hands hits any of the nearby particles, and since our hands have more kinetic energy, some of the KE from our hand gets transferred to the particle colliding with our hand, and hence the average KE of our hands decreases, causing us to feel cold.

Heat and Freeze, is the two legs, that all and any Stuff walk on. So, Temperature, is composition of Heat and Freeze.

I think vibrations of particles on hand will get lowered and transfer some energy to nearby air molecules.
@PhysicsMadeEasy4 жыл бұрын
Correct 🧡! In a solid (your hand), The energy is under the form of the vibration of its particles. These vibrations will transfer some of their energy to the air particles, which therefore will be going faster: The air heats up while the hand cools.

Historically temperature is the degree of change in state between frozen ice & boiled stream under 1 atmospheric pressure.

You are talking about the scale humans defined for temperature, not its nature ;-)
