Rxn is in equilibrium 38:44 As we know T>dH/dS (then reaction is in spontaneous) Here 40.63kJ/mol then it is =40630 J/mol dG= dH -T(dS) = 40630 - 108.8 × 373.4 = 40630 - 40625.92 = 4.08 Here dG > 0 Then reaction is non feasible

Sir, I am a graduate enrolled in MSc now....and as the video is progressing....my regret is also growing... remembering the time when I used to struggle so much during my high school days with these topics and finally sat for my 12 boards leaving these topics. It would had been so good if I would have watched your videos then. You are excellent sir.... these topics are almost of no use to me now, as my subject is life science; but still I am watching each and every video on the topics that I once left in class 11 and 12 and those concepts remained boxed until now. I am watching these just for my own satisfaction. Once again sir....You are the best , best teacher I have come across till date.😊

Answer at 39:03 •ΔG=40630-[(373.7)*(108.0) •ΔG= 4.08 = +ve •Therefore reaction will non feasible but if small amount of temperature of 4.08K is provided then it can be feasible.😀

Answer is:Non-feasible(∆G=+4.08) Given in Q.:∆H=40.63kJ=40.63×1000J ∆S=108.8&T=373.4K By applying this formula:∆G=∆H-T∆S We get,∆G=+4.08 #∆G is +ve therefore this reaction is non-feasible/non-spontaneous.

The reversible sign doesn't mean equilibrium. We have not been provided the information whether ∆H has been given for forward reaction or the backward reaction, so if you solve for forward reaction and assume ∆H is +40.63, ∆S is 108.8 then you would get G as +4.08. But if you do it the other way round,means you take Ag2O as product you would get G= -4.08. Since we don't know in accordance of which reaction (forward/backward) the data has been provided,the ans, according to me, would be (4)

Ans will be equilibrium. ∆H/∆S= (40.63×10³)/(108.8) i.e 0.3734×10³ = 373.4 Which is equal to given Temperature. i.e 373.4 K.

The correct answer is the process remains in equilibrium option c as the exact temperature for equation is 373.4375K and it is rounded off as 373.4 so just put the value of T as 373.4375 ....... it is for those people who got +4.08 as delta G ....

Hello friends I think you can also understand it like, in this case sir remark ∆H as a favourable so for spontaneous process it must be Exothermic so temperature must be lower than ∆H/∆S. Not greater than ∆H/∆S. What's your idea about it.

@@shivamtalokar272 see...ur i have taken it out by the ratio process and the the value of the ratio del H/del S came 373.4375...thus i took the first digit without rounding off and del T came equal to del H/del S...if u also multiply 373.4375 with the entropy 108.8 the value Del G would be zero..so it was just a confusion based numbers after the decimal

Sir, In the reaction: A--> X + Z, bonds are breaking therefore ∆S must be +ve so the term -T∆s is -ve. ∆H is already -ve so the ∆G should be -ve at all temperature. Can you tell me where am I getting wrong becoz I dont we can assume in that reaction that the ∆S is Positive

Sir the question is at 38:40 sec which answer is approximately +5 so the answer is non-feasible which means non-spontaneous because ∆G=+5(approx) when∆G is (+ve) then the process is non-feasible. Thank you so much sir for this mind blowing concept ❤.

Sir thank you for what you have been doing for us! So will you please check the video at 31:15 where you have divided the inequation by ∆S. But if ∆S is negative you cannot divide the inequation with that term without changing the inequality. Therefore sir if ∆ H and ∆ S are both negative and for the reaction to be spontaneous so that ∆ G be negative shouldnt T be smaller then ∆H/∆S?

A DOUBT SIR, at 41:22 in that reaction A-->B + X , the number of molecules is INCREASING so well shouldn't delS be POSITIVE, and so there should be NO DEPENDENCY ON TEMPARATURE?

Yes, you are correct brother. Since moles are increasing, therefore disorder is increasing, so delS=+ve. Now, ∆G=∆H-T∆S ∆G=-ve-T(+ve) ∆G=-ve-T So T doesn't matter.

It is so surprising to note that when I finished over with class 12, you were yet to born Sir, but though am an engineer today, where on to become so as one, had to learn lots of chemistry but without a cent percent grasp because of lot of unclarity over these fundamentals. I lament why didn't we have the opportunity like these online platform in our times where we could have done away with our classroom teachers to whom we attended to their classes but had taught us quite superficially to get us carried away without completely grasping and loving the subject. Today your videos are giving succulence to our knowledge asset about the world around chemistry and physics. I love learning and so not wasting my time without knowing the subject where I missed them in my student hey days.
