How many reps and for how many days ? Will it permanently reduce the spasticity or just temporary like other techniques?
@PhysioClassroom
@PhysioClassroom 2 жыл бұрын
Your question is good but the anwer is long and has to be understood in detail. Do watch our all Neurorehabilitation videos / playlist to get answer to your question. In summary: spasticity is a Nervous system adaptive behaviour to accomplish certain goals / tasks. It can be controlled and regulated by understanding the neurophysiology of spasticty and motor control.

Sir. Chances of shoulder Dislocation ??
@PhysioClassroom

Chances of injury are high only when the practitioner lacks the basic antamical, biomechanical, neurophysiological and decesion making skills. Otherwise 0% chances of shoulder injury / dislocation

@PhysioClassroom
@PhysioClassroom 3 жыл бұрын
Mobilize the scapulothoracic joint first and start with small range of Movement arc and gradually increase the ROM within patient's tolerance. Be gentle , be slow and monitor end results. Maybe you can complete the ROM painlessly s the spasticity reduces. Send video of your procedure on 9410575949 whatsapp

Do you think a passive position can break the synergy. Do you expect by doing such a passive movement establish voluntary control.... I really believe you should also state the shortcomings of the techniques as well
@PhysioClassroom
@PhysioClassroom 4 жыл бұрын
This technique is to unlock spastic joints and make them available for the Exercise participation. It is not a technique to regain voluntary control. How did you come to such a conclusion? When passive movements have become difficult due to grade 3 spasticity, This technique can help in reducing the flexor tone. That's it. Rest as you said is absolutely correct, we need different sets to exercises to break synergy and regain voluntary control. Thanks for watching amd giving your valuable feedback 😊🙏

Nope. It utilizes the postural reactions to decrease the flexor tone. How ever the pattern of Movement that is utilized can be used to stimulate the proprioceptors throughout resistance and secondary ending stretch. 😊
