Dear Professor Fink My dream is to go to the air force to become a neonataligist and OB/GYN. I am only 14 and I want to save lives. I wanted to write down the basics before I go to college and I'm completely clueless to what my future professor is saying. I made a binder for Obstetrics and I have it organized into sections such as: Female anatomy, cyclical changes, ovarian cycle, normal pregnancy ,and perinatal diseases. Your lectures have helped me with my notes very much. Thank you, Raelynn Stringer

The ones that do usually charge money. Its great finding someone who helps for the benefit of others and not just themselves. You really have an amazing way of teaching...... it kept me interested throughout the whole video, Thank you again

I thank you Professor for your dedication to the job and your selfless attitude in sharing the knowledge for no monetary gains. But I also extend my thankfullness on behalf of all those people in the "Teaching profession" who dont teach, but just do it just for salary. !! There are hundreds out there. Because the system does not have a means to measure thier effort or sincerity they get away with it. If the students pass thier exams it is because of genuine people like you..!!

I really meant what I said, because if I had teachers like you when I grew up, spending my days in college, my future would have been different,( or should I say my present ! ) All I was left with was some text books to grapple with and no source to turn for inspiration and guidance. I feel jealous of your students..Lucky fellows, I should say. If I watch your lectures, I can be quizzed on it, and I can easily score a 70 - 80 % after that. The lectures are that thorough and complete.!

This is true, he was wrong in saying a 30 day cycle would result in ovulation at day 15. Because the luteal phase is fixed at 14 days, ovulation for a 30 day cycle would occur at day 16 (30-14). Otherwise this is a great overview for a student of any level!

Great! Professor fink, you are the best. I love your Lectures so much. but i want to ask your a question; you said progesterone is being secreted by follicle sell, which makes the blood vessel to grow, while, the stop secreting of progesterone, makes the blood vessels to shed out of the virginal canal. now my question is, at what level will progesterone will stop secreting if implantation takes place in the uterine tube.

Dear professor Fink. I enjoyed your lecture, but I have to point out one mistake... The egg cell does not live for one week. Not even three days. Actually it degenerates in about 18 hours. The reason you can get pregnant for about three days during a cycle is because the sperm can survive for up to 6 days (rare. mostly its more around 3...) in the uterus/fallopian tube, and therefore fertilize the egg right when it pops out. This is something many women know, and take advantage of. As you yourself mention, you can get ovulation kits from the pharmacy, and 18-26 hours after detected ovulation, you can have unprotected sex without getting pregnant. Im sorry I didnt find a peer review article to support my claims, but here is a link to the wikipedia article. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ovulation
@professorfink
@professorfink 10 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much for your correcting my misstatement. You are correct about the viability of the human ovum being 12-24 hours. (However, considering that sperm may remain viable for 3 days -- & even as much as 5 days! -- this does increase the number of days during which the ovum COULD become fertilized.) I truly appreciate your interest in my video lectures. Wishing you much SUCCESS, sincerely, -- professor fink

the luteal phase is always 2 weeks, as that's the life span of the corpus luteum. So you don't work out the ovulation time by dividing the menstrual cycle by 2 as he says, you go back 14 days from the first day of menses. Just saying as it confused me at first.
