Helping our wildlife patients recover can be a very labour intensive, hands-on endeavour.
This crow was at Salthaven for almost a couple of weeks, healing a fractured wing after being hit by a car.
We wrapped the wing for several days at a time and when it was time to change the wrap, it was also time for some physiotherapy. When a crow is involved, that becomes a two-person job.
Check out how it’s done. Make sure to turn the sound on to hear Brian explain what he’s doing and why.
FYI, the treatment worked. The wing healed and the crow was successfully released.
Salthaven Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Centre is committed to the care and rehabilitation of sick, injured, orphaned or otherwise compromised wildlife; our goal is to return healthy animals to their natural habitat. Through education, we are dedicated to increasing public awareness about the issues affecting Canadian Wildlife.
