Early Rehabilitation and Acute Exacerbations of COPD: A Knowledge-to-Action Approach
Although early rehabilitation for hospitalized patients with an acute exacerbation of COPD (AECOPD) reduces readmissions, many clinicians are uncomfortable exercising these patients. Dr. Camp will discuss a knowledge-to- action research program that was used for education and support for clinicians who provide rehabilitation care to hospitalized AECOPD patients.

Pat Camp is a physiotherapist and researcher at UBC and St Paul’s Hospital. Dr. Camp’s research program is focused on novel strategies to improve physical activity in individuals with chronic lung disease, with an emphasis on studies in pulmonary telerehabilitation and exercise for patients with an acute exacerbation of COPD.
