I was on a domestic PIA flight from Islamabad to Karachi in March 1987. We began our descent to land . It was a fairly typical descent several minutes into it, there was a loud rumble...just a noise, no sudden movements, no bumps nothing, the plane was gliding smoothly .I looked outside through the window,as did many other passengers...we had landed . Not single jerky movement,no rattling of the overhead cabins nothing, it was the smoothest landing ever. We passengers started clapping , in total awe of what had just happened.

Wonderful and fantastic experience and I feel as if I have traveled in PIA from London to Karachi. Cool headed and friendly Pilots. No fuss no tension and silk smooth take off and landing. I want to fly in PIA with the same Pilots. God bless these Pilots and PIA. Would have been nice if the flight passengers were also shown for a minute. We the Indians and Pakistanis are brothers separated only by Rad Cliffe line in the Atari border. Love from India.

***** Yeah this crew didn't do a great deal of manual flying - autopilot went on shortly after takeoff, under 1,000 feet above the ground and was disconnected on approach just under 1,000 feet. That said, the autopilot only follows instructions from the pilots so even with the computer 'controlling' the flight the crew are still flying the plane - just slightly less directly!

Having flown on many airlines, I can positively say that PIA pilots land planes in the softest manner. Never have I experienced a hard landing on this airline. Don't remember even once!

The image from the cockpit of the sun rising is fantastic. I wonder if pilots ever get over seeing such spectacular sights? In all my years, I still love being above the clouds but one of my favorite flights is flying over the Southern Alps here in New Zealand from the east coast to the west. It takes less than 25 minutes and it is just fantastic as you're never out of view of the land.

Well I really don't know what to say except a few things. This is our (Pakistani) tragedy to get personal over criticism and inclined to take it personally and get ready to attack back rather than thinking about what and why certain comments has been made, what his motives or intentions were?. Just want to use your own Urdu comments about me which were extremely personal, bias and totally out of context about what the topic was. Now coming back to the topic, money making business can’t be one pride unless one directly or indirectly involve in it, well, I don’t think you have shares in PIA, you don’t even own a screw of the aircraft, so based on my argument one can’t be proud of anything which he didn’t not achieve personally. (I hope you take this criticism objectively not subjectively and not going to enrage about it and start writing reply). You also said “you can always find a negative point about everything in this world” so logically you backup my comments even if there is any negativity in it. Thanks for replying back anyway.
