hey Mitch, thanks for these great vids! I have a 2015 fly, besides changing the oil/sparkplug/clean air filter, what other things I can do to service the scooter by myself (without needing mechanic)? Cheers!

callagher1234 you can change the drive belt. Also the Vario/transmission has some sort of rollers in them you replace. Maybe clean the carburetor and replace the I injection needle. You can lookup Vespa Motorsport on KZbin, it is the same routine as the engine are the same. The carburetor only needs to be done of engine stutters during idle

Hey Mtich, always fun & helpful watching your videos! Gotta question.. Whenever riding longer distances 10+miles OR on very hot days, after a while the engine starts to hesitate/stall (almost got stranded yesterday, luckily only 0.5m from our home). Then , as always following day, it starts right up and rides well. Checked fuel line, vaccuum hose, carb.... any other suggestions?

I am craftsman freak but you don't have to use "craftsman" brand to buy tools... if you click on link and you can type a tool name and find what you would like to spend on.... Hi, sometimes I clean my clutch externally using break cleaner. It works really well and saves me paying a scooter shop $90. My question is though is there supposed toi be a small square hole at the bottom of the casing without a cap ? as all the fluid and fine dirt runs out the hole which is great but just wondering if its supposed to be there uncapped ? thanks

My Fly 50 4T4V seems to run fine, idles a bit slow, but when i put my finger in the exhaust it has carbon deposits, very fine , not sticky or wet. This concerns me, as I recently bought without checking, since mileage was only a few hundred. Oil on the dipstick looks and smells clean after it now has my first 100 miles on it. Of course, the previous owner could have just changed the oil, to look good. Should a 4 stroke leave fine carbon on the exhaust ?

No te recomiendo ponerle aceite de coche a una scooter, y menos aún si es refrigerada por aire, las revoluciones y temperatura a la que trabajan son muy distintas y el paquete de aditivos no es el mismo. Incluso tratándose de un 5w40 podrías llegar a tener problemas. Un saludo.

why do you run the engine for check again thhe oil level ? I have read everywhere that the engine need to be cold before checking oil level.

you have to run the engine about a couple of minutes,to let the oil make a circle on the engine components..and see whats the losts...then refill if its nesecery... sorry about my english. i hope i helped you

The manual says use JAO-MA oil specification. Is this necessary, since the scooter does not have a wet clutch-type transmission? It almost seems that the high quality synthetic might be better, since the JAO-MA oils have no friction modifiers to prevent slippage in the wet clutch. Anybody have an idea?
