Dear Mr. Fitch, thank you for all the piano tips you have shared throughout the years. I am sure many people have benefited from them. Sorry, you have to go. You must have plenty of students waiting for piano lessons. 😀 Please post more videos when you have a moment. Thanks again. 🙏.

Thank you very much, I was working on Beethoven's 3rd Sonata and struggling with some 10th chords. I could not move anything to the right hand and it wasnt sounding right when I spread it. The pedal timing advice is extremely helpful. I wasn't too keen on forcing a stretch that could hurt my hands.

Great consoling advice for those of us with puppy paws that can only reach a 9th!

I have a similar way of playing such excessively stretched chords just by playing the farthest note indicted in bass and melody and play the other notes (in-between) nearest to the bass or treble and this keeps the effect of the chord and justifies it's use.

This needs better camera angles of the hands to show what he's doing. Or to show the singled out chords on the score.

Agree, at 5:29 for example you can't see what his thumbs are doing. Great video otherwise

Hi, does anyone has suggestions for the rolled chords in Schumaan/Liszt - Widmung (Dedication)? The repeat of the A section where the rolled chord and the melody are both in the left hand. (Return of main melody in the tenor) How should I connect the melody? While changing the rolled harmonies? (where in the Chopin op48.no1 example, the top melody was held on by the right pinky) Appreciate your response in advance anyone who sees this!

The aesthetics of the Hamburg Steinway seems to have changed. Never seen this before, where the book stand and lid prop looks more NY, yet the book stand is still hinged at the usual Hamburg way. Also the plate colour looks more orange, like that of Bosendorfer’s.

Secret Mission They’re alluding to women spreading their legs. Although it’s kind of a lame joke, so don’t worry for not getting it. I get the feeling the orator of the joke does not, in fact, see many spread legs themselves.
