Um can I help you? I know what you’re trying to do. I think.

Sure, I'd be very pleased. Can you send me an e-mail?

the use of ai in your thumbnail is a gross act. why should a film director commission your work, or a performer ask to play your music, when they can generate music to use with AI? if you truly want to be a great musician, that means you must respect all of the arts, not just music.

I'll give that some thought. On the one hand, I understand your point, but on the other, an alternative solution is needed first.

@ an alternative solution like…. commissioning a living artist? making the score cover yourself? working with a photographer? there are plenty of alternatives, you were just too lazy to explore them.

@@johnmackeyenthusiast No, wrong conclusion. If it went according to your logic, nobody would be allowed to use orchestral simulations, for example, because you could also hire real musicians. But then many things would not be heard, because they are very expensive. That's why they were developed, and the same applies to AI. As I said, I understand your approach. But it's naive to believe that someone isn't using the technologies of their time, especially as you can listen to my music here for free on KZbin - after all, I don't get any money for that either.

@@christianjunck the reason why many composers use midi to realize a work is an issue of accessibility - they don't have the money or resources to put together a professional ensembles to play their work. really, midi realizations of a composers' work does not represent their work well. it doesn't have the same interpretive powers as a human to capture the humanness of a work. however, for something simple like thumbnail art (or images for your website), accessibility is not an issue. you can go online and find a photographer who is okay with their work being used elsewhere, or even take pictures yourself (i'm pretty sure you have a cell phone). why didn't you use an ai music generator to compose this work? to me, it seems that you have no problem "using the technologies of your time" to compose.

@@johnmackeyenthusiast Exactly. It costs money. And rightly so, an orchestral simulation cannot completely replace real musicians. Neither can AI replace a painter. AI produces licence-free mass-produced goods as an accessory. If a painter exhibits his works and has AI music playing in the background (for atmosphere) in order to save on licence or performance costs, I don't feel offended. The last question is easy to answer: Because I enjoy composing. That was once the reason why I started with it and hopefully that will always be the main reason for me.
