It's all the makings of a 50s do-wop song! I had this figured out when I was a little kid playing piano, and it's the kind of music I live for, because my parents played their do-wop records when I was a baby and I was listening intently. It was this early exposure to music that gave me my ability to play by ear, as well as my passion for do-wop.

Thanks for sharing this, it's the 2nd video of yours I have watched that I have learned a great deal, the agility and technique in my right hand has just taken a boost from watching this one . i have always been able to play with my left hand, but always felt handicapped with my right and worse still no faith to overcome. I decided to get a 82 key keyboard piano (well actually my wife did for Christmas). Practicing every day I have been amazed how quickly my right hand playing is developing, gone from very awkward playing to vastly improving every week.

The progression also works in minor key (A minor for example) but last (5th) chord gonna be a major one. In A minor it'll be "E G# B" instead of "E G B".

Great video! Is this similar to a 2 5 1 chord progression?
@pianoinaflash8 жыл бұрын
It is, as far as a ii-V-I is another VERY often used progression that you hear all the time. It's amazing once you get your ears "tuned" (pun intended) to hearing these often used progressions how much simpler progressing down the road of playing by ear becomes.
