A little slow, but managed to push out a video ww
Doing this one was fun (at the cost of sleep :^) well, can't be helped).
Stuff I decided to use while arranging:
There was blue inflections on the melody, I couldn't resist using some jazz patterns in here. Walking bass (with tonic pedal for better flow) and...stride piano of questionable quality was used here and there. (i have near zero experience with this aaaaaa)
The 5-note downward slams appearing in the left hand were to emulate smaller glissandos; intended for ease of play by minimising the need to shift your hand position to do glissandos. (yes i use British spelling)
A few sections here and there were inspired, such as the...jumps in the left hand after the bridge instrumental solo sparsely referencing Scriabin's left hand figurations..

I am not certain if you can do it in your software, but maybe separate main chord notes to another voice and hold them for longer to avoid both the loss of tonality when using all short notes and the overcrowded cluster when using pedal?

Pardon me if I interpreted the question wrong, but yes, it’s possible. However, the key should have been anchored by the pedal notes in the right hand and playing the bottom note of the left hand pattern slightly louder. Even though the upper left hand part was moving chromatically, I’m not sure if it confuses the tonality of the section, and the notes in the cluster was within the key as well. Would it be possible to give some examples of the sections you’ve mentioned?

@@Kurolaff @Kurolaff Ok It was probably 3am when I made the comment and I couldn't English then... The thing I was saying is, in the choruses say bars 43 44 45, although not written, I feel a bit of pedal that spans between chromatics in the left hand (might be software problem, again I can't be certain) and at a low register the minor 2nd "cluster" ... Stands out. The tonality thing I said was just hypothetical and does not occur in this, so don't mind it lol P.S. actually the chromatic notes pedaled is not a great problem too, but coupled with the intentional dissonant clusters like 5 white keys, the dissonance gets a little overwhelming compared to the original.

Ah, I see what you mean. I did add in some invisible pedal marks intentionally to give the left hand some variation so it isn’t too ‘bland’, but I probably held the pedal over different chords resulting in the tone cluster.. I’ll be more careful next time, thanks for the feedback!

Why does the bridge(?) sound like a tarantella to me? Like if it was played at 1.15x or so, it could easily pass for some Southern Italian folk dance tune.
