I have to admit, that Charles Walter surprised me! What a great sounding piano.

Ya, while Charles Walter Studios are generally regarded as amazing, their grand pianos have much more mixed opinions. That particular one was one of the best grands I have ever played of that size, and I have played 1000s of pianos over the years. They cost more than Steinways of the same size, though. (I have an unpopular opinion of Steinway pianos, but it's a general baseline to use since everyone knows them and their prices.)

Why not play the Robert Estrin cadence? That would have been amazing!

Great comparison of various pianos. What is the piece that Robert Estrin played on the Charles Walter piano? Do you know?
@seancregomusic

I should know; it's on the tip of my tongue, but as I've really only been involved with very modern music for the past decade or so, the title is escaping me at the moment!

The piece I played on the Charles Walter was a movement from Robert Schumann's Carnaval entitled, "Chopin". It is a gem of a piece which is a tribute to Chopin composed by Schumann.

I liked the way the second piano sounded better than the first one. The high range sounded different not as smooth to me..NOT a piano expert in any way. Just like the sound of the second one better

Fazioli and bosendorfer were the two best pianos. Please do not compare the Petroff to the fazioli two different sounds. Fazioli much more cleaner. My man if you like them all better than the fazioli you need to get a new set of ears

"On paper", sure, but you may need to understand what "objectivity" and "opinion" mean. :) While spending a lot of time on the Piano World forums, for example, piano people in general sure have a very difficult time understanding what those words mean. Just think of all the people who are stuck thinking that "Steinway is the best" simply because they won the marketing wars when it mattered most. Most "Steinway people" will never accept that they are "better" alternatives, or even alternatives at all! The P-IV that I just bought is the best sounding and feeling piano that I have ever played. Unfortunately, I cannot get "feel" and "touch" to come across over KZbin, and I don't have microphones nearly good enough to get its true sound across, either.

Antonin Petrof was the official piano provider to the Austro-Hungarian Empire and the de-facto piano of the Vatican. Fazioli is like how many years old? Less than 50? The new Ant. Petrof series will change your opinion. In my opinion the newer Petrofs blew everything not named Blüthner or Bösendorfer.
