Piano Provenzana - Grotta del Gelo

On the north face of Mount Etna there is a very particular cave called Grotta del Gelo (Frost Cave).
Its peculiarity is to keep inside a thick layer of ice all year round, even during the hot Sicilian summers.
For this reason it is considered the southernmost glacier in Europe.
