the piano recordings for this anime just has such rich tones, like you can -hear- how the keys are being pressed down, its not just the pure note of the key being hit, clean and precise like a natural version of synthesia. its like you can feel the piano in it. maybe its nonsense, it just sounds really dahm good and vibrant

I think that this interpretation is one of my favourites especially for the first half of the piece. However, Arima Kousei is known to be like a robot and follow the sheet music as close as possible. So since the tempo is presto agitato, it is supposed to be very quick. So I guess the guy that played this piece for the anime should've played this entire piece as fast as he could and follow the sheet as close as possible meaning only pedal at the parts where instructed as kept a fast tempo throughout the entire piece. Clearly this has a lot of his own interpretation and isn't exactly following the sheet fully as what arima is known to have done. Thats what following the sheet fully is supposed to mean isnt it? playing the piece exactly how its written in the sheet. So I guess that's a loophole.
@julianveney8 жыл бұрын
ASM I totally agree, while I really like this interpretation of the song, I believe a much better candidate for playing this piece would be a Pianist like Valentina lisista

Your Lie in April has changed the way I interpret music.
@nausicaa709 жыл бұрын
This is a really good version. But I still prefer Valentina Lisitsa's. ;)
@Ameriflute9 жыл бұрын
+nausicaa70 While Valentina's rendition is good, I feel like she took it so fast that she didn't always have optimal control over the harmonics. While she did a very good job in keeping everything together at that speed (believe me, you have to be very good to do it), there's a certain point at which the piano just becomes too powerful to control everything when it's so fast and big like Beethoven's piano. I feel like Tokomi Sakata was overall the most faithful and accurate to the score, while, of course, maintaining a certain sense of individuality of interpretation. Which is probably why they wanted Sakata to play the parts anyways, because of his rhythmic and harmonic accuracy. That being said, as a pianist, I prefer this version over Lisitsa's simply because I appreciate the amount of detail and thought given to each note of the piece more than Lisitsa's.
@raptorjesus69538 жыл бұрын
Dominic Fowler No, I think Kempff was most faithful to the score. But I still prefer how this interpretation draws the emotion from each note. It is quite a perfectionnist one.
@kyleesanborn52448 жыл бұрын
+Raptor Jesus If you are too faithful to the score, you will eventually be like a machine...with no emotions. This piece-each piece- should be played with the pianist's expressions shown to the people whom are observing/listening to them.

This piece is relevant to the main character’s psyche at the beginning of the series. He is fighting with himself as he finds that he cannot play due to psychological blocks. Similarly, Ludwig Van Beethoven was frustrated with himself upon realizing how popular moonlight sonata was. He was even quoted as saying “Surely I’ve written better things”. Similarly to the main character fighting with himself, Ludwig Van Beethoven spent time fighting with himself over moonlight sonata’s popularity. Coincidence? I think not.
