The speaker audio on this ypg235 is something hard to pin down. The audio is so perfect no need exists to use external audio source . You can not hear what it is capable of on a KZbin video. When the piano is set up in the correct room you can not tell where the source is. It projects a sound stage 10 feet away from the keyboard . It sounds as if it is in front of you at. Distance .what looks like a cheap plastic keyboard ( found mine in the trash ) has a beautiful voice . The lower octaves can give plenty of bass . The lush sound machine is a piece of junk instrument that is priceless. The speaker arrangement and sound quality is about as good as it is ever going to get .... ever.

I've had this piano for more than 5 years. But I still don't know how to get my "User" recordings onto my laptop. Do you have any tips or have any information on it?
@Films1286 жыл бұрын
There is no way to get the actual files off of the keyboard. The only way I've gotten anything off of it is through audio recording, from the headphone jack to the microphone jack on my computer. I've had great success with that method. But, like you, I'd really love the ability to "export" my recorded songs, and then reload them at some point. Sadly, this keyboard just won't do it.

@@Films128 The way you do it seems great! I wanted to create a small original song album for myself but didn't know how to record my songs, then export them. But I think I'll do it the way you do it. Thanks so much for your help, and I really love your talent!

I wish Yamaha would increase the polyphony on their ypg line to 64 notes or higher. 31 and 32 notes seem like they are not enough. I have also found to get a good piano tone, you have to keep the sustain pedal depressed the entire time you are playing or it does not sound as good.
@bigmacsauce72574 жыл бұрын
Real pianos don't even sound good without the pedal, you've only got half an instrument without the foot pedal
@thephilosopher57993 жыл бұрын
That’s why you should just go for the p45. Has 64 polyphony. Less sounds though but better sounds. $500 is pricey but you can find them used for $400

I just got the Yamaha ypg235 keyboard. Got it from my son. He didn't even give me the power cable that goes with it. I had to order one from Amazon. I heard that it comes with a disk. Is that true?? What else do I need?? I've never had a keyboard before or any instrument but I've always wanted to learn how to play the piano. Well, I lied. When I was sixteen I bought a guitar and amp from a pawnshop. I only had it about two weeks when a friend asked to borrow it. I never saw my guitar or that friend again. So I just want to dabble in a little music. It might be fun. Where can I get some good lessons from??

Why would anybody pay $1,000+ for a keyboard when you have one like this with the EXACT same sound quality.....
@Am719195 жыл бұрын
@fartpoobox ohyeah exact same sound quality means exact same sound engine, I admit the on-board speakers aren't really all that great quality but coming out of the right amplification system, you and your live audience would be very hard-pressed to tell the difference between this keyboard and a real piano, as a matter of fact, the only thing that differentiates a high-end keyboard from a keyboard like this are the extra features, if you don't use those extra features and you just want a good piano sound without breaking the bank, then this keyboard is perfect, don't take my word for it, go to Google and you'll see 95% positive reviews for this thing as far as the piano sample goes despite that this keyboard will be 20 years old in March......
@aukofx63935 жыл бұрын
@@Am71919 for a hobbyist or anyone who wants synth-like keys I'd agree with you. more polyphony (32 vs 128,) more keys (76 vs 88,) better touch/velocity detection, and fully weighted keys (like an acoustic piano) are just a few reasons a professional piano player would spend more on a "digital piano" over a keyboard
@Am719195 жыл бұрын
@@aukofx6393 despite the fact that there are hundreds of synths that pros use, if a musician knows what he's doing, playing on unweighted Keys isn't any less rewarding and fun to play than weighted keys, don't forget, our favorite songs from the 70s 80s and part of the 90s were all performed on synthesizers or digital pianos that had 12, 16 and 24 notes of polyphony at the most, a Yamaha DX7(unweighted keys, no touch sensitivity)only has 16 notes of polyphony but yet it is one of the most sought-after musical instruments on the market by Pros
