Keeping all the chords in one octave is such cool advice for a beginner, thank you. It's obvious after you say it, but it still surprised me a little to realize "oh yeah, you can play every triad with just one octave!" Great exercise, great video. Thank you!

I love the concepts you break down and then show ways to begin to practise them. The inversion through staying within one octave is such a simple way to grasp inversions i am gonna spend sometime on that as a practise. Working my way rhrough a chord voicing book but will be adding this to my practise. Fantastic Teaching

I really enjoy this video, subscribed, I'm looking for more content like this, hope you keep it coming. You're an excellent speaker, the video showing it is great, although could probably be even better if you do the piano highlighted overlay that many do. I use midi jarr, which is free, others use chordie app

Nice to know I must be a pro as I know all the inversions...now if I can just figure out getting better at rhythmic bass line...how to work in the scales.(which I also know)...etc... 🤣🤣I'm in the same boat as the guitar player below... BTW..Your suggestion on how to practice is exactly how I taught myself..the tricky part is when you start using chords beyond major and minor and the inversions..I am still slow on that

2:12 😂😂definitely couldn't find the inversions on the fly when I started incorporating inversions in my playing at first. But, I did manage to memorize C, F, Dm/DMaj from (A Chord, root position), Em from (G chord, root position), D#Maj 2nd inversion, G#Maj 3rd inversion and C#major 2nd inversion. The rest, I'm not able to identify in a blink of an eye.. the only problem I'm having is that some chords shapes are uncomfortable for me. Especially when I have to position my fingers in between the 2 black keys..somethings I would accidentally his nearby notes...

I really appreciate you teaching style. I am a guitar player now learning piano. As a lesson request, could you teach some Rhythm accompanying patterns for different grooves to apply to these chords. As a guitar player we have strumming patterns and fingerpicking patterns. Is there a a basic set of patterns or a way to approach the playing of chords in time? Thank you!

When I'm playing piano as a beginner is it ok if i use only 2nd inversion in a whole song chords progression? Because my muscle memory is using only the 2nd inversion at my right-hand then my left hand is the bass. My problem is if I mix the 1st inversion and 2nd inversion. I got confused and I got mistaken easily while I was playing the song. because my muscle memory knows only 2nd inversion. Is that ok?
