Thank you! I’ve been trying to find a video of the speakers

I'm waiting for a covid check to arrive...going straight to my Juno 88. I have waited nine months to buy this thing, I can't WAIT! It's been hell but I finally am getting my head above water. I was concerned about the external speaker, I read reviews that there was 1) no external sound 2) external sound was iffy 3) external speakers were an absolute requirement. For my purposes, your video demonstrates I don't really need anything additional. Very informative, I can't wait to start playing!!!!!

Wow, as for 12 watts of total power the sound of RD-88 is impressive.

Wow, they have come a long way since my Yamaha PSR-5700 that had built in speakers and disk drive for recording my terrible so called songs back in the day. Thanks Chuck, you Rock!

The psr5700 was a great Yamaha arranger in the golden days of the early 1990s. It had an excellent speaker system but it was a heavy beast!

Thanks Chuck. I was searching some info about the RD88 and you just came up with this!!!! I will wait for some more information about this keyboard. I would like to know how goog-bad is the keyboard action compared to the PX-S3000's one, and its midi capabilities. I want to know if the RD can play midi files as accompaniment, while I'm playing the keyboard. The idea is playing with my own backing tracks. I hope you could do a deeper review of this keyboard. Very good video, I appreciate the way you recorded that and you have explained us what gear you used. That is fundamental for understanding how it really sounds.

Can I load new sounds into it? I love the Kawai digital pianos but want heaps of other sounds as well, not many offer that in portable digital pianos with inbuilt speakers. Some of the Fantoms do a real all stops pipe organ, I would like to be able to load that into the Rd88.

Is it 6 watts RMS or 6 watts Peak?

This piano sounded very good to my ears. The manufacturers have to be careful to include the most relevant voices that emulate past musical sounds of the past and not try to sell the product based on how many 100s of voices it has. IMHO 20-25 appropriate voices would be adequate for most players.

I own this! What would recommend for eq settings for speakers only to come as close as possible to amplified sound through a decent pair of speakers? Default seem a little muddy dull to me.

I noticed this too. However, I figured that when using piano I turn the knob labelled 7 to the right. The volume increases along and sounds become clearer. When you change the tone do this again. Hope this helps

Green Eyed Lady😋 Looks like there is a bank of tones after the SN pianos & EPs, that is unique to this unit. Wondering if they use standard ZenCore wave set or something additional. Waveform list is not included in Soundlist manual.

Nice Chuck! Perfect way to start checking out this KB. Any thoughts on how it compares to the PX-s3000? Looking forward to your full review.

Guys I played the rd88 at guitar center today. I'm in USA. I love the keyboard and action is finominal. I am disappointed with speakers as I want to maybe play nursing homes or jewelry stores around Christmas time and use the mic. I was messing around and hit the "key touch" button then I adjusted the "Velocity" from "Real" and incremented it up to 100 to 125. You literally get almost twice the volume out of those speakers its actually very loud but keys are very sensitive. But if you now lower the volume a bit it sounds pretty good with still more volume out of those speakers. My question " what the heck did I do?" It must set the key velocity like your slamming down on them when your really not. But is this a legit way to get more volume out of these speakers. Can you guys try this and let me know. I wonder also if this effects the mic volume as well I really want to get on of these puppies Thanks any advice appreciated. Thanks Mj.

I thought I was really interested in picking one of these boards up, based on the quality of the sounds I had heard on this and other channels. Yesterday, I got a chance to demo it at a Guitar Center. I was disappointed in the volume of the piano patches when played through the internal speakers. Even cranked up to full volume, they were not very loud. Especially when compared to other instruments like organs that were quite loud, even at half volume. Has anyone notice this when playing the RD88? I was wanting to find out if it was just a bad piece of equipment that I had tried out or if all these units have this issue.

it´s the way it is. Trick: You can raise the int. speaker volume by turning up the gain of the master eq.

Can You please Let us know if Ravenscroft can be Loaded into the RD-88 and if You will be Selling Both. Been waiting 8 months for the RD-88 to get here.

@@PianoManChuck Hey Chuck, Truly Appreciated I thought since this New ZenCore came on to the seen ,,, I was under the impression that the RD-88 was like the Vivo SX7 and had the capability to load other Mfg Sounds. Again Thank You Big Time.
@PianoManChuck4 жыл бұрын
Vivo SX7 cannot load other manufacturer's sounds either - it can load their own sounds that Dexibell created, or it can load .SF2 (Sound Font 2) files, which has nothing to do with other manufacturers of keyboards creating them.

@@PianoManChuck So in other words, Like You, I like the Vivo Fazzioli too but, I also really like the Ravenscroft 275. So the Raven would have to run in my iPad Down stream from the Vivo ,,, all controlled by either the RD-88 or a MIDI Controller ? I think that's right? Roland's ZenCore videos had me thinking more like Ravenscroft's UVI software could run in the ZenCore. Hey, no joke Thanks in Advance Your Review of VPC1/Ravenscroft gave me the, "I want that",,, Wish List want's Thanks Joe D
@PianoManChuck4 жыл бұрын
Ravenscroft, like any other external sound, is played via a "controller" or a keyboard acting as a controller.

I can hear you hitting the keys, a very annoying sound and wonder if I'd hear this when I play it should I buy one. Hmm.

Those sensitive condenser mics are just a couple of inches away from the keys. I doubt you'll be playing with your ears that close to the keys.

All the acoustic piano sounds are clearly variations on the same basic voice. Very metallic and clanky sounding in the midrange.

Agree 100%. And though I haven't seen an actual review yet, at $1200 US, you seem FAR better off getting a Casio Px-S3000 AND a pair of good speakers and a stand!
