Excellent videos and great advice. Have you read Seymour Bernstein´s "With your own two hands"? It offers lots of great advices for musicians. I hope you do a lot more of videos discussing this kind of things

Thx for the tips, as a beginner I think the first two are probably the most useful. What is the name of the first songs? It sounds really familiar and I love it! Thumbs up!

Thanks, yes some of these are not suitable for beginners. Tip #5 might also be worth considering. The very first thing you hear is Beethoven Tempest sonata 3rd movement. The piece for tip no.1 is Debussy Arabesque in A major.

Just discovered your channel. Great stuff here. I have a recital coming up in March and I’m determined to give as good a performance I can. Thanks for the tips! Edit: Het any specific suggestions for the piece I’m working on? I’m revisiting an old piece I played years ago, Doctor Gradus ad Parnassum by Debusssy. One thing I realized is I strain very much on the introduction. I also struggle with speed. ATM I’m mainly focusing on relaxing my hand as much possible and playing it evenly and slowly.

Hey thanks Paul. Yes the opening is the hardest part of the Dr Gradus. You could try some of the exercises I suggest in the video on practicing Ravel Jeux d'eau (Specifically, those at 0 :18 and 5 :05 of that video): kzbin.info/www/bejne/inzSZGmdoL15m7M

@@pianomosaic No no it was in my reccomended, but I’m more happy that it’s piano related i’ve been forgetting and dropping so many pieces unfinished. I just never hear ‘Securing pieces’ unless it’s chess haha

In tip no 1 it's Debussy's Arabesque No. 1 And in tip no 2 it's the 3rd movement of Beethoven's Tempest sonata.
