@SG-wi9kd yes I did. After ten days of him drinking where I couldn't see him, making my house reek of stale alcohol, scaring my kids with him being intoxicated and putting a major strain on my relationship, not mention my finances, I had to ask him to leave. 1 of the hardest decisions I've ever made. I told him he wasn't allowed to drink halfway through those 10 days, and he started to go pale and shake uncontrollably. I looked up, going cold turkey from alcoholism and it stated that 60% of alcoholics that go cold turkey suffer from heart attacks. These people need professional help, and they need to take themselves in. I tried, but he refused. His life was possessed by addiction.

I think these listeners have been well served by changing their initial judgement of a homeless man's appearance and the talents the homeless could potentially possess. Indeed some homeless people do have great musical skills. Even if the audience realised later that they were pranked - it's a good prank and I don't think they'll be violated by feeling deceived in this case. My two pence.
@toshinouu33065 жыл бұрын
Jeepy Trouble with your comment is, its not like they were told afterwards he wasnt homeless. Just seeing this on the internet wouldn’t change their perspective, especially since theyd know its for a good cause in the end anyways. If anything, they’d probably consider donating more since theyre entertained well and its going to a homeless charity anyways. If it DID change their perspective then they probably didnt donate or werent going to donate in the first place cuz that just means theyre a shite person. Stop trying to downplay good acts. @@jungkookslefteyelashes2632 Hi Willow 👋 Haven't been there in a very long time....1995 I think ...if I lived nearby I would have a look at it and give it some TLC. A piano really needs a stable environment. Changes in temperature and humidity can cause the wrestplank which holds the tuning pins to crack. There is about a ton of tension on the frame. On a good sized grand piano it's about two and a half tons ! Anyway all the best to you 👍

If you are homeless you are effed, if you busk you will have people bully you and pour drinks on your head, you will get into violent fights over nothing. I'm all for mental health, it's just not being done rightfully at all, pretty much all other homeless people ask me for change when I'm packing up and I give them a little bit of whatever I got for the 8hr day (around £10), but the Salvation Army often give me food and shelter (the shelter doesn't last long though)

This teaches many lessons. Having ended up without a home once in my life, I am familiar. This can show others that those people you shun or hate to look at were once just like you and me. It only takes one or two things at the wrong time or place to happen that can completely change a persons fortunes, but it can never change the person or their skills/talents. That man sitting on the corner could be an incredible poet, or a carpenter. He could be a war hero, a singer, or a mathematician. Most importantly, they are people, and we need to remind ourselves of that.

I agree about hidden talents but homeless folk need not be extraordinary to receive this sort of help. We share in our humanity and that is sufficient. As you say, it may only take a few mistakes, mishaps, or misfortunes to make anyone of us homeless. Whether you are a religious believer or not these words ring true; ‘There but for the Grace of God go I.’ (A paraphrase from the Bible, 1 Corinthians 15:8 - 10)

Sounds like the most emotional short-film ever. Synopsis: Homeless man on his way to end his life but encounters a piano in the mall on his way to his demise. He plays the piano and realises he still has great talent for it and childhood memories begin flashing before him. He begins to sob and the sobbing turns to a stream of tears hitting the keys as he plays majestically. "This is all I have to give, This is all", he whispers as the sobbing intensifies. His worthlessness healing from the excellence of his piano skills just as the melody swarms in a big crowd. One by one they donate to the little cup someone else had placed and it begins over-flowing with money. And at the last note played by the keys, the crowd began to clap violently, cheering and whistling. The homeless man was greeted with great smiles by smiling men and women with tears in drowning their faces. "Beep! Beep!" (?!) The homeless man wakes up from beeping of cars in traffic. It was all dream, but a dream that inspired him to get help and return to his musical talents.
