I do the same with Scribd. I use it to sample music books and if I like the pieces, I'll purchase the hard copy. I like to sight read, so Scribd is great for sampling a lot of music. I suppose if I had a bigger ipad screen (12"), I wouldn't need to purchase the hard copy. I pay $4.99 a month for Scribd, but at that rate, you are limited to sheet music, documents (which includes a lot of sheet music), non fiction and audiobooks. No fiction, which is fine for me.
