They actually hit on something really important. piano is all about learning notes and picking a theme. if you ever wanted to make a song you would have to know what each note sounded like...which also involves combining them into a melody. I've figured this method out in my own time through practice on my own. Simply playing the piano is enough to eventually learn it :)
@enchantinglysimple5 жыл бұрын
Great advice, and excellent place to start out, especially for begginners. I've always wanted to write songs, because tunes will randomly come to me, but I've never done anything with it. So this is a wonderful place for me to start. Also, I haven't watched many of your videos, but hoping there are more about song writing and composing a song. Thanks for making the video.

@@gavinmitchellmusic Yup, you're right. That's a good quote. However, there are also times where you add, cut, add, cut, change here, change there, etc. only to come back your very first idea. Lol. Rick Beato calls it "demo-itis". Sometimes, the very first gut instinct is the best. But that's mainly dealing with writing demos for modern day pop songs. I know it's a totally different ball game with orchestral music.

If you learn Gymnopedie 3 by Erik Satie that’s exactly what he did, a bunch of chords progression and inverted chords with a easy melody on the right hand, changing octaves, changing starting point note, but sticking to the same group of notes and pattern, and it sounds really beautiful.

Here is a quick tip 1) come up with a simple first line with a word at the end that isn’t like the,and, or ect 2) go on rhymzone and find rhyming words and make the next line have that rhyme in it Keep doing this for a few lines and then you need a chorus and don’t have rhym after rhyme bc it sounds weird
@kody49834 жыл бұрын
I just word vomit when I’m having a bad/good experience and then use it to figure out the lyrics later when I feel better that way you get the emotion but with a clear head
@musclecars603 жыл бұрын
Definitely take @@madelinesingh4611 's advice because it's very good, but I would add that you can always go back and refine the line. Like write something that rhymes (or nearly rhymes), but as you're writing the song, go back and change the line to fit more into what the song's about if that makes sense.

I just like how things are kept simple nothing is made overly complex. Its the best piano learning KZbin channel I think it offers something for everyone to learn. I work playing piano with 6 Completely functional fingers and almost every video I've watched on this channel has been useful. I found when I watched other KZbin piano tutorial channels half way through watching a video i found it to be a complete waste of time for me.

First you know white keys or notes. C d e f a g b These are major notes Cords are combined press of three keys with left hand where bass is high or low frequency notes. C major cord =c e g notes You can google for other notes. Then learn key note of song. This is first note or chord of a song Here it is c Major cords and 3 keys combo to press at left hand. Cord progression is making a sequence of chords for any key yo can google. Here she uses c f and a minor and g major. The notes he playing at right hand can be sung vocally with pressing chords. Then you can learn minor chords these use mostly for sad songs.

This is just a foundation for a song. It’s not complete in 5 minutes. Plus there are no words. But it’s a good start. Yet I understand where they were going. One of the best pieces that I’ve ever written took me somewhere between 15 to 20 minutes. That’s all down on paper complete with words. People still don’t believe I wrote it that fast. But I had a witness. It happened while visiting my sister about 20 years ago. I suddenly got the tune in my head. And the words flowed from the music. 4 verses and a chorus all in less than 20 minutes.... Nothing quite this dramatic has happened since, but I typically can write music spontaneously. Sometimes words don’t come until years later, or not at all.
