I would like to offer some scientific practical advice. For those who don’t like practicing, you must create a dopaminergic rewards system while practicing. This is acquired through figuring out why the practicing your doing is adding benefit to the end goal , and the goal must be created in your mind. When let’s say you don’t like scales but you must figure out and understand why this is important. When you sit down and begin them you must think about why and do this over and over, it’s been proven we can do this just by thinking about it and faking it till you make it. Over and over. Self discipline is key on sitting down during the hard times and just doing it. But with time you will begin to love the things you don’t want to do but you know are necessary. This love is backed by you releasing dopamine. I hope everyone achieves what they seek. Thank you. Remember just think about why doing it is beneficial to your end goal that you are seeking every-time you sit down.

It is always the way and not the destiny. Enjoy the road! I am 67 and am learning all major and minor scales and Burgmuller 100. I am having fun learning these, giving my old fingers joints a run to keep them alive. And they are very much alive indeed!

So elated that I found your channel, such great practical advice. I am a senior 70's who is learning piano through Faber method book 1 right now, of which you helped me make that choice. Thank you do much.

Thank You,I'm a 3 ,4, Level my 1st year since I left 2nd grade 30 years ago.I can't stop practicing if I like the songs.But some days my brain gets fuzzy from overdoing it I even woke up and saw sheet music that wasn't there on my pillow.Taking breaks helps with the fuzzy brain and strain.

can you please do a video on how to play by ear?
@claude5125
@claude5125 4 ай бұрын
My short answer would be…. It depends! If you have a concert at the Vienna’s Opera or if you play at home, alone or for friends. Often a pianist is more severe for himself than his auditoire. You know you made a mistake, not them. They just appreciate the moment. I play piano for 15 yeans now. Pop-jazz (80%) and classic. I never worked on only one piece. 2-3 pieces at the time of different level. I try to work on pieces that will help me improve something different. I want to include piece that can follow me in my progression. Eg: Automn Leaves…i play it now differently than a few years ago. When working on a new technic, i can apply on it. I use « Roulette » free app to help me not forget a piece. Tiny Decision ( my free app), is used. The app decides for me what to play, or practice.

1 hour? 45 minutes? I sit and when I stand up, it is like 3 hours passed and it feels like 15 minutes. 😂 I, to be honest, don't understand why people say they can't practice long hours. The time playing piano flies!

Not for everybody. We are all individuals and everybody has a different concentration spam just like memory or picking up new things. Some people can memorise pieces after playing them 3 times, others can never feel confident without sheet music

@@pianotips2623 I do not agree. I think people who keep complaining about time not passing while playing, are playing just because they have already spent all that money on a piano and they cannot admit that they regret or simply they gave up because it was not what they were looking for. Because for the one who likes something, the time will fly and it will feel like 15 minutes because s/he truly enjoys it. I am sorry. Not only I but also Life says it. It is so simple and nobody can convince me otherwise. Not because i am hard headed or stubborn but because this is as simple as 1+1=2. Thanks bye.

How does a teacher measure "talent"?
@pianotips2623
@pianotips2623 Жыл бұрын
You can't measure it on a scale but it's very obvious when you start teaching someone. How quickly they pick things up and how much musicality they bring into their playing. Everybody can learn the notes but talent shines through in expression and character.

Your voice editing has TOO much bass in it to listen on good headphones or speakers. It doesn't need to be that way.
