As a life long self-taught musician I really appreciate your videos. While I’m able to play anything I hear by ear I was never taught any of the fundamentals, so a lot of the “basic” or common sense lessons you teach are extremely valuable to me...you really are a terrific teacher. Thank you!

Jonny I have to say a big THANKYOU! I am a conservatory trained pianist and have a degree in music.....BUT I have always believed that there was an element of creativity that was missing and simplicity that is so very missed in the classical training. THANK YOU again and looking forward to more of your videos. P.S. I am going to look through the eyes of a pure beginner and enjoy the process :) :) :)

Kelly, I agree. I've been taught piano, trumpet, and guitar, but I have never been taught this kind of stuff that is fun, and helps us to express ourselves fluently.

Nobody will teach you creativity and improvisation, it has either been there from birth or it is not there. The improvisation is not a thoughtless run over the notes of a chord. Improvisation is a construction more interesting than the topic.

Jonny, after a short while of playing such a simple 2 chord progression, I can't help but feel like I'm being cliche. Do you have some advise on how to avoid that and elaborate on the chords without overcomplicating it?

Wow Jonny great Video. I am a beginner in the piano game and excited to learn. I have a Yamaha p45 digital piano. It has 8 sounds and one of them is the standard Grand Piano Sound of course. Is this digital piano suitable for playing Jazz, Blues etc. or do I need a special keyboard for that? I would be very thankful if someone who has more experience than me could give me an answer :)
