Even if you don’t know theory at all this is a great lesson. It allows you to follow along at any level and really feel the keys which I believe is the most important part of learning piano. Don’t get caught up in the theory get your fingers dancing around and comfortable with good technique and the theory will become easier as you are more comfy. Great vid for improvising at any level!

Hi, loved this video, thank you. But do you (or does anyone) have any tips on how to put it all together? Having a hard time combing the chord pop (repeated three times) explained at the start with all those right hand riffs. It's really hard! My left hand keeps wanting to follow the rhythm of the right hand. Is there a separate video on the paid site to explain this?

One quick question Jonny... You're using Cm7 in this yet on other tutorials you're using Cmaj7. What makes you decide which one to go with? 🤔 Ps. Love your lessons 👍

Great lesson, as always! P.S. I never understood why smooth jazz is dismissed by some. Of course, there are different artists of this subgenre who differ significantly in their degree of musicianship and technical prowess, but still, all in all, smooth jazz is a cool genre.

Beginner tip: delete the Eb in the left hand (or add it in randomly for color). Much easier to play plus it sounds cool to randomly add the Eb.

It sounds exactly like the default CFX sample set on the CP4. Keyscape has a sampled C7 (smaller grand piano), so it has less pronounced overtones and harmonics.
