When I visited Boolavogue 3 years ago I felt so emotional,can't really explain it but honestly felt like father Murphy and his brave men were still in that wee town,I love the ballad and Jim Mc Cann singing it,and I will be back in Boolavogue,thank you brave father Murphy and the brave men from Wexford.

Many’s a late night early morning singing session I had with Shane Mc Gowan, this was the only song he’d sing in these sessions, he was a big fan of Dan Breen also, wonderful times, Shane loved the old Irish songs, I miss the sessions, I miss Shane too, his Broad Majestic grin and cackle , he’d love this for sure 😢
