I'm from Knockanure and I've heard this song sung since I was a child. This version is by far my favourite. He has such a mesmerising quality to his voice, it's hypnotising. Such a gifter singe, and a ginger like myself. 😊

This is something else, vocals that are truely haunting. This young man is an awesome singer of Irish ballads and history. Fair play.

Piaras is something else. A very endearing young man, who sings with such compassion, and has a voice that exceeds his years, which both beautiful and rare at the same time. The future of traditional Irish music is truly safe in your hands. ❤ 🇮🇪 🎶 💚

How american pop melody became a 'traditional Irish ' ballad
@angloirishproductions2 ай бұрын
It's very well documented that the vast majority of Traditional Irish Ballads lived as poems for decades before music was put to them. Sure, listen to Raglan Road. The melody there is also very familiar... Out of curiosity, what "pop melody" did this song take inspiration from?
