It's five years since my previous comment. I keep coming back to this video, a real gem. It's beautiful how your hands dance their own milonga on the strings, very suitable to this melancholic piece, a milonga of a real angel. Thank you!

The cross string has the edgy ethereal quality that that the concert harp loses in its refinement. Always love Mirjam's playing of anything from Jazz standards to classical.

I could not say enough good about this piece. You make it sound like Piazzolla wrote it for this harp. Your performance is stunning and entrancing.

Outstanding! What a complicated piece! Would this be even harder to play on a lever or pedal harp given all the sharps?

hello ... just wanted to let you know.. listening and watching this amazing vid has been the reason i now want a xstrung and want to learn to play it. i play single row 31 string and have for some 20 years. what an inspiration you are; interpretation, phrasing, so much heart. How long have you been playing xstrung and did you find it difficult to come off of a pedal/single row harp? Please share your harp story, and who you have studied with? thanks so much, tristan
@mirjamrietbergharp11 жыл бұрын
hello Tristan, thank you for your comment! i hope you have the chance to try out a crossharp, it's so fun to play! I play chromatic besides the pedal harp and celtic harp and still find it difficult sometimes (trying from 2007). The technique is very different but that's also what makes it nice to discover (i learned most things on the chormatic harp myself). On my websites www.harpchromatic.com you can find more info, don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions! All the best, Mirjam

Lovely. As a harp maker about to build my first cross harp, I must ask: have you tried 5x7 cross harps too? My tendency would be to build a 5x7 harp, because the layout is more familiar- do you think the 6x6 is easier to learn? Bedankt. Groeten uit Wenen, Scott
