Did anybody else notice that the T68A at the front of the double stack towards the end of the video was the same as the T68A behind the M5000 of the double stack right at the end of the video?

I like the Manchester Metrolink, the new M5000 trains remind me of the Cologne Stadtbahn which also has a nice network

+SimonHellinger There is a very good reason why the M5000 look so familiar; this is because in Cologne they have the K5000 which are basically the same trams but designed for lower height platforms. Its my understanding that when Metrolink started buying these they wanted a tram design that was proven reliable etc in other towns and cities. The last thing they would have wanted would have been new design which 4 years later has problems.

Could it be that the M5000's have a problem with flange-squeal?

Amazing how much the area around the front of the station has changed since the 90s...almost unrecognisable! I kinda miss the T68s, they look dated now but had character. The M5000s seem a little bland to me but efficient and spacious none the less.

I agree - I prefer this way, as it was such a waste to have masses of derelict land in an inner city area.
