So it wasn't a week we waited to see this in America. IT was daily that we saw new episodes. The fucked up part is how they did it. They would go up to friezas final form then start the anime over from raditz, go up to the end of frieza, then restart again, then up to revealing cell and restart the anime all over again. They did it so damn much I remember being extremely mad about it at least a dozen times. I can't remember where the breaks were but we'd get like 20 new episodes or something then they'd restart it from the beginning. So it was months of waiting for certain parts.

In japan it was weeks. During our childhood's it came out daily cuz they dubbed it all beforehand i think. Or the parts that were shown at least.

I'm pretty sure in the UK it was daily too but we had alternating Ocean and Funimation dubs episode to episode which I never even picked up on as a kid except the different soundtracks, I just thought damn this show got alot of good music. If you've never heard the Ocean dub of Piccolo going Super Namekian against 17 on the island you should def check it out its fucking insane

My understanding is that they would run the stuff they had dubbed already, then reset to give themselves more road to dub it. Dubbing is apparently complicated because word for word it’s nearly unwatchable and has to be rewritten to make sense for the flavor of the audience and to match with the mouth flaps or else it looks like a 70s king fu dub.

So to clear up something here, the Trunks from Cell's timeline didn't have the raw strength to beat the Androids. He found the Androids' blueprints from Gero's lab in the past (unseen timeline) and managed to destroy them (likely from creating and using the remote)

There’s people who complain about Cell’s exposition here, but I LOVED it. Vegeta, Nappa, and Frieza love to hear themselves talk, so Cell is the same way. It was such a revelation. That now, the “bad guys” have another baddie after them. One who was created by Gero with cells of Goku and all warriors who more or less fought Goku. It’s a three way cat and mouse game.

You're right. In the world where Cell came from, Trunks didn't get any stronger. In the original comics, Piccolo speculates that Trunks found the blueprints for Android 17 and 18, created the controllers, and then destroyed them.

The only part that confuses me a little is when Trunks defeats the androids before he was killed by Cell and taking his Time Machine, why did he (Trunks) set the coordinates way back in the past before Frieza and Cold set foot on earth? Maybe I missed some explanation or Trunks forgot to set the coordinates properly

Trunks from Cell's timeline may not have beaten the Androids with his power. He may have gotten a remote from another past timeline from Bulma and deactivated them. He was then gonna go back to the past to tell everyone that it was a success.

Few errors and notes from this episode -Trunks didn’t beat the Androids with raw power. If he was strong enough to do that, then Cell would not have been able to beat him ”easily” as even here Cell is below Android 17 (as Piccolo is as strong as him apparently and he was clearly superior to Cell). It is clarified by Cell later, but Trunks manages to deactivate the androids in his timeline. -When Cell was discussing the cell gathering, he mentioned Trunks killing Frieza and the possibility of his cells being gathered too - this is a writing error. That only happened in our world (and one extra past timeline, the ”unseen timeline,” where the Trunks, who was killed by Cell, travelled to), but in the future worlds, because obviously Trunks didn’t come from the future in those timelines, Mecha Frieza was killed by Goku. Meaning Cell’s story mistakenly refers to the event of our world despite the events going differently in his world and he shouldn’t have any way of knowing how it happened here. -Cell mentions that Trunks had put the coordinates to the time machine already and he just pressed the button and came. That makes no sense since the time machine took him so far into the past that it was a year before Trunks showed up for the first time to beat Frieza. And like Piccolo said, the reason Trunks was coming to the past was to go tell his friends from the past that he finally managed to beat the androids. So the time machine should have probably arrived around the current present time or even little bit later point in time, when the androids are presumably defeated in this timeline too (the Androids were most likely deactivated in the unseen past timeline first, then Trunks went to deactivate them in his future after that, and then was coming back to tell the good news but Cell killed him). That is an actual plothole in the series that is not explainable. The only excuse I could think of is that Trunks had not yet finished putting the coordinates and the year was off by like 4 when Cell attacked, for some reason

Trunks was in his base form so he was no challenge, even if the other Cell of other timeline was slightly weaker. Like Trunks said... separated he could possibly get a win over one of the androids and since other time line androids are weaker (like half or 2/3 of the power) then he could get zenkai boost once or twice to catch up The way she bright up when Piccolo got back 😁 I'm also happy! GO PICCOLO!!!

15:27 Cell at that moment was NOT stronger than Trunks. He attacked Trunks by surprise and injured him so that he was unable to prevent his neck from being broken. Trunks was completely relaxed the moment Cell appeared behind him, as there was supposedly no reason to keep guard anymore, as 17 and 18 were dead. This way it was easy for Cell to attack Trunks at a critical point, even though Cell was much weaker than him. The American dub is PATHETIC! totally confused the original context of the scene.

Fight😂😂😂. The funniest bit is that gohan was maybe using like 50% at most when violating cell because later on cell was confident of winning, injured gohan's arm... And still was evaporated completely. The difference was that big. The only logical conclusion was that cell measured his increased power against gohan's suppressed power.

He had no time to focus his energy. If they were equals then cell would not have died. There is no instance recorded in dragon ball history where a fighter is completely vaporised by someone of equal power

There is something i don't understand. How does Cell know that Trunks defeated Freezer? He also comes from a future timeline. Goku supposedly used instant transmission to get there in time and defeated them.

Cell probably does not know that Goku did it. He probably knows about Trunks because he came in the current timeline before Trunks and assumes that he was the one that did it in his time as well. Either that or it is a parallel timeline.

Maybe its a third universe, where Future Trunks(from some timeline A) came to timeline B to destroyed frieza and warned the Z-fighters about the androids. But the androids destroyed the Z-fighters anyways. Then the Trunks born in timeline B went to past in timeline C to warn the Z-fighters and got stronger in timeline C, and came back to timeline B and then defeated the androids.

No Son Gohan or Nappa shitty things. Also, Trunks is not strong enough to defeat 17 and 18 in his timeline. He somehow found how to build a remote and switched off the androids. Plus, when Cell killed him, Trunks was in base form, 50 times weaker than the Super Saiyan. From now and until the end of the next saga, the strongest fighter without transformation is Piccolo

Thank godness Piccolo is okay he doghed Kamehameha just in time but Cell is powerful and fast enemy he must be very careful. He doesn't have flaws as a creation. His "donors" have flaws. Cell has the abilities of gohan, goku, vegeta and frieza. He can surpass the likes of black frieza as well. His problem is that he has the ego of vegeta fused with that of frieza... But he doesn't have the kind of foolishness that you'd expect. Cell decided to immediately try to destroy the earth after he came back vs gohan. He didn't let his zenkai get to his head.
