I dont think ive ever used a blade bait like the vailt. Being further north than you, my boat is winterized until april (which sucks). So by the time i hit the water its prespawn. Plus, without a livescope, i pound the shoreline mostly. Keep putting out the videos. #BAITWRX

That does suck. But in clear water try this in open water like you would a lipless. You'll love it.

You can use it like a jigging spoon or a lipless or anything in-between.

Blade lures are so good, especially in deep water or when you stand somewhere higher than the actual water. Can be fished vertical, horizontal, trolling... they don't fall apart after 5 fish and cast to outer space😂

#100percentwatchsquad You are so right about those cheaper bait wraps! I got a few of the pricier ones from Academy I think it was, and they had some sort of "reinforcing weave" on them. All that did was get hung up in the trebled and make things a pain. I switched to cheap wraps with a clear plastic. No problems since then.

I have recently bought a bunch of different brand blade baits. I haven't tried the Damiki Vault ones I got yet, but I just can't get bit on one. I am jigging it off the bottom. Barely lifting/popping the rod for a small vibration and letting it fall. Guess I'm just not in the right areas.

Would I be ok to use a 7:3:1 or 7:4:1 gear ratio reel weather it’s on 7’ or 7’1” medium heavy rod? Or should I stay like a 6:3 on a moderate medium heavy rod. Just want a little of your insight. I agree the Damiki Vault is the gold standard. But a couple of others you might want to try is the Rapala Rippin Blade and a hybrid between a blade and lipless design the Rapala V Blade. I've had good success with both. #BAITWRX

I have two home lakes near me both about 15 minutes from the house one is a deep highland resovoir filled with rock and sand with no vegetation and the other only gets about 40 foot max and has a ton of vegetation however in the grass lake I found a school in a deeper part of the creek channel and I caught so many on a Berkley Frittside 9 so I went back to is it them this weekend before we get a ton of rain and wind it was like the calm before the storm and they didn’t want the Frittside they just wanted a little 3 inch spark shad bouncing off the bottom on a ball head however as the wind picked up I switched over to the damiki vault and they weren’t getting it very good so I switched over to a shad colored red eye shad and I think the noise and maybe the larger size the found it better and I started getting them into the kayak
