The best (and saddest) part about this animatic is how it portrays Luke. While it's easy to assume that Luke's attempts to make peace are just part of maintaining his cover at camp, this portrays this as the moment his faith in his fellow demigods dies. His belief in the gods died long ago, but Luke probably still hoped the campers could be better than their parents and come together as a family. Instead, he watches them break off into warring factions, ready to kill each other for gods who don't care about them. Everything Kronos told him about the gods and their ilk is being confirmed, and whatever remaining loyalty he had to the Olymian regime is crumbling. It's hard not to imagine Kronos smiling in Tartarus, he couldn't have planned this better.

Yeah, it seems to start with Luke thinking he can keep his friends out the fight while the gods destroy each other, and gradually realizing there's no way to 'save' them as everyone just jumps behind their respective parents, something he's adamantly opposed to doing for Ares. It's really beautifully done!

Reading the part of “coming together as a family” makes me think if Luke really just wanted a family. I mean- look. He’s never had a father figure when he needed one the most. I’m not even sure if Luke could call his mom, well. His mother, cause instead of a loving mother embrace. She scared Luke away, causing him to hide away. And when he FINALLY found a family figure (Thalia and Annabeth), The two of them ended up on the opposite side. Making Luke alone. I wonder if that was one of his desires. To have a family

Fun fact, in the Broadway musical, Silena was depicted as a black girl and had a huge battle hammer with a thin and long handle and I love that about the musical and the characters depictioning.

Literally such a perfect animatic! The way you drew Clarisse is just so…HER! And Silena looks just like her official portrait! And then the way Luke’s scar looks like actual claw marks since he got it from the dragon Ladon. And Silena’s bow is ADORABLE! And the way you can see Kronos getting through to Luke! I can’t explain how perfect this is! And you can see Silena and Clarisse starting to become friends even though in the end it showed her with Luke while Clarisse is standing alone, which is such a great representation of how she has to prove herself as a daughter of Ares. If only I had your talent, man.
