I have been watching FA for years now, these reviews just keep getting better all the time. The camera work is best work so far. Phil X, well what can I say, King of Awesome. The Drills, they floor me. What band can say they have resurrected Ginghas Khan as a drummer, instead of pillaging villages, he is ruling those skins. And for bass they got Machine Gun Fingers ripping low notes like it was a burp gun. Interstellar performance guys.

This was the best Phil X video we've had for a long time, I think. And there are two reasons for that. 1. Phil was very informative about the guitar and demonstrated its tones, through the different amps. Recently, he's merely played the guitars, had fun but not said much about them. So this was like a return to his classic videos in that cramped little room. We really got to hear the guitar's personality. 2. Superstition was stupendous, even better than Stevie Wonder's and far better than SRV's. I have two questions. 1. Does Mr Spriewald ever play clean-toned? 2. Will Phil please, please, PLEASE learn and play T.Rex's Jitterbug Love? I know it's obscure, but I'd love to hear the Drills play it, and I think they'd have fun with it. And bollocks to his fans who might say "Duuude, what the f*** was that?" Thanks, Phil!

+Two-Dog James Dan tracked with a DI and an amp which was fairly clean. I just like my bass to growl so I added a little OD.
@stephenjames49379 жыл бұрын
+Smiley Sean Many years ago, from 1979 to 1990, I had a solid state 100W HH VS-100 bass amp. One of its features was a "valve tone" knob, which gave it a growl. I thought it very ugly, but for a while before I sold it to come and live in America, I started using it. In moderation, though. If I plugged my Precision into your rig, young sir, I'd back the OD off a bit so it was merely slightly hairy. But then, this is one of the reasons why I don't have a gig with Mr Xenidis, and you do! I do love your punchy, warm style, I must say.

Obviously, this nice-looking Strat needs a setup: truss rod or string height. Hope it's included in the price. Won't even stay in tune... No comparison with the late 50's or 60's Strats Phil has demoed in earlier vids. If one affords/wishes to spend that kind of money on a guit, the tone has to be out of this world and the setting perfect ! \m/
