Trae has been inefficient by his standards this year but still more efficient than Ja,Cade, and Lamelo this year and he’s also the best playmaker/passer in the league

Listen please. Efficiency is NOT a big deal. It’s petty and ridiculous to overlook playmaking for THAT. Efficiency is not what puts points on the board (plus true shooting isn’t that bad). Trae is not just leading the league in assists, he’s playmaking at a HISTORIC level. Most APG since Stockton in 1995. Think about how many hall of fame playmakers have had nearly their whole careers since then (CP3, Kidd, Nash, even Westbrook and Bron). NONE of them have done what Trae is doing right now in APG for the season. That alone should vault him into the game, not borderline. I have him over Lamelo, dame, herro, and garland. The first four guards should be Mitchell, Brunson, Trae, and Cade. Dame is having a better season than last year, BUT it’s having a negative effect on the bucks. They are moving downward and Giannis is the only reason they are staying in the top 6. They already have an all star/MVP candidate and the hawks need to get their league-best playmaker in before the underachieving bucks get their number 2 in. The hawks are doing much BETTER than expected after losing Dejounte (they are half a game out of the 6th spot) and Trae’s new style of play (taking NOTICEABLY less shots to focus on playmaking) is the biggest reason why, along with Jalen Johnson’s leap. HOWEVER, Jalen has been missing time lately, and trae has legit all star moments to highlight his selection (rolling dice at MSG, three 20-20 games, half court game winning buzzer beater, beating the league best Cavs twice in a row). I would love to have Jalen in there, but the hawks need an all star and it has to be Trae.
