Can’t say that I would fancy the uneven or the mosaic tiles for the joy of cleaning the endless grout 😅 but now on the subject of café curtains? I have them plain and white with a brushed gold thick rod and clip rings ! Love them! ❤

Mosaic floor tiling is not just pretty. It’s a safer way to make a bathroom floor. That’s why it’s traditional. But if you like bigger tiles that’s ok just put anti slip mats on it to prevent slipping near the shower or sink. I like bigger tiles myself. 🤗🥰nice work today Julie!

Yes to all of the above except cafe curtains. My fave was mosaic and textured tiles. Since you opened it up for suggestions... I vote for a video about how to style a deck. Tips on outdoor furniture, area rugs, plants, decor, etc. It would be very appropriate for Spring & Summer. Thanks a million for all you do, Julie!

Love that curves are coming back. It's easier to maintain than those sharp corners that you can never get the dirt off without breaking your arm.

What style of mirror do you gravitate to? Round, arch rectangle etc. Love your content thank you ❤❤❤

Depends on the vignette. I like contrast, so if there’s a rectangular console below the mirror, I’d go for a round mirror. If the table is wood, I would choose metal… hope that makes sense!

I had always considered cafe curtains a classic, workable choice. A shame many designers cannot see that and would rather dismiss the concept. Thanks Julie for vouching for them, with your sensible, more open minded decor style, I wish others could see that as well.

Yes, definitely agree with @hsmd4533 - I’ve seen them designed terribly (wrong fabric choice/ hardware), but when installed beautifully café curtains can be very chic and highly functional 👍

I love the idea of using antique mirror in bathroom, but how can I place another mirror on it. can you please explain this to me. I want to try this in my bathroom. I also like the idea of a Gallery wall. Could i put the pictures near bathroom sink or over the door ?..It is the only space i have in the bathroom. Please share your thoughts. Because you asked, I would most likely do a statement bathroom mirror, but not germ-shaped one, haha. For curve that hugs me, I prefer a curved bath rub to a curved shower wall. I will probably look in storage boxes for the German lace cafe curtain from our travels and put it in kitchen- windowless bathrooms.

You have to keep the bathroom well ventilated- that’s the kicker. I have high ceilings, a window plus vent in mine

Hi Julie as always! such fab content! I have a question about the abstract-shaped mirrors - isn't it true that a weird-shaped mirror is not good fengshui? is that only true for certain spaces in the house?

I have heard that too, especially if they cut your image in some way that is not positive.

Feng Shui doesn’t like mirrors that warp the reflection like mirror tiles or grids or ones that cut your body in half. Obviously for bathroom vanities, these are mostly waist height and up. So as long as the sculptural mirrors reflect a good portion of your body and face, you’re fine in my book 👍

Love your tips, but I think you should think about the practicality of these solutions Gallery walls: don't use ANY painting or picture you care about, humidity will get to it and you will eventually have to replace them -3d tiles. Pretty, but a pain to clean -open shelves: as above, a paint to clean and no protection from moisture. Linens and towels exposed will get dusty and Yes to the coffee curtains, the mosaic floors and the irregular mirrors!!! They are items that you need in any case, might as well make it pretty 😊

Love the mirrors but the gallery walls though look great but when the toilet is not in its own enclosure then the germ spray from it makes them very unsanitary. It's not practical yuk

I used to think the same thing about café curtains until I saw how one of my fav designers Heidi Caillier constantly reused this technique in her bathroom designs. I love how old world European it feels ☺️
