Picked up the Yamaha PSS-270 how does it compare to the PSS-170?

I had the pss270 back in 87. I used to hook this and a casio sk-1 up to a peavey kb300 amp and jam with my friend that played drums

Little tid bit for you. The "ghost" voice, #89, is only found on the 170 and 270. The song "pop goes the world" by men without hats has a short sampling of this voice !!

I have the PSS-270, I got it for Christmas in 1987. It retailed for $99 I think. What I remember is the 170 was sold along side the 270 but the 270 is stereo and the 170 is only mono. As far as I remember you can only press 2 keys at once and get sound, anything other than that will be silent.

I love these keyboards, so much fun to play. I think I like trying to find them in the wild but these I did buy from people selling them on marketplace generally. I think the 270 I drove a fair distance to get it only to find one pop up much closer to me weeks later. Sort of a timing thing.

I did find a PSS-170 in a charity shop in May or June 2010 when I was on my college break but unfortunately at the last minute I changed my mind for some reason and took it back. Also in early 2006 before I bought my Yamaha PSS-280 I found the PSS-270 in a charity shop but didn't pick it up because it didn't quite have all the instrument sounds I was looking for. Maybe I might reconsider getting the PSS-270 ( I would buy either of them if I found another one in a charity shop ).
