Hey Jim! What a great variety of pickups. Very nice of Tony to send you the Drake’s Rice. Good idea to add the Tommy John rookie in case he gets in. Either way, you have an excellent pitcher who will always be remembered for a surgery that changed so many careers. The Billy Williams card is a nice value considering how good a player he was. Guys like him Richie Allen, Santo, Yaz, Frank Howard and many others had their numbers lowered some because their primes were in a pitchers era. They had fantastic careers but imagine if they played in a hitters era. What a great portrait of Paul Waner. It has that old time feel and captures the era perfectly. Nice Reggie Lewis Newsstand SI. I remember how shocking it was when he passed away. Cool Pop Culture additions. I remember opening Moonraker packs. I would put the stickers that were in the set on to some of my books. Thanks Terry! The Drakes Jim Rice is a cool card! I really enjoyed those cards (along with Hostess cards) back in the day! I’ve had the Tommy John RC on my list for a long time, thought it would be a good time to add it to the collection. I think he has a good chance to get in. If he had 12 more victories in his career he would have been in years ago. HOF or not he was a great pitcher and obviously an important person in the history of sports medicine. Billy Williams and Ron Santo rookie cards are really under valued in my opinion, I will likely get the Santo too at some point soon. I don’t know what it is about the Waner but to see it in person it just has a great vintage look to it, I love it!! Ha! Cool that you remember opening the Moonraker packs and putting the stickers on your books! Fun times! I appreciate the awesome comment my friend! Have a great weekend!

Sounds like quite a group! TBH that Venezuelan card looks to be in great shape compared to most I've seen, nice find! The W517 set is one of my favs and is stacked with great players. I love the card number on front and the gritty look to it. Beauty of a Williams rookie. That one is tough to find as far as centering goes. Great finds Jim!

Jim! Awesome pickups, my friend! Congrats on the Yaz additions, especially the Venezuelan. What a cool card! Plus, the Williams and John rookies are gorgeous examples. Love the centering and color. And finally, seeing the Reggie Lewis SI brought back some tough memories. I’ve been a Celtics fan my whole life and that was a difficult time when he passed away. Lewis was my favorite player and I couldn’t believe it when he was gone. On a brighter note, I had a pair of Reebok pumps like he was wearing on the cover. Thanks Mark! I don’t know if John has the Boggs Candy wrapper. I really like the Venezuelan cards, and they are much tougher to find than the regular Topps cards! There’s a great story about how many of them entered the United States. I am going to pick up any Venezuelan card with Yastrzemski on it when I can. I like any player that had a nice career with the Red Sox, doesn’t really matter to me if they played somewhere else before or after. Of the players you mentioned that left Cleveland my favorite of course is Eckersley. Liked Maris too. Also Lou Boudreau and Tris Speaker too! I appreciate you watching! I don't have any valenzulian cards. for me I like players that played before the Yankees once they left the Yankees it feels different. my favorite would be Graig Nettles. never saw Roger Maris.
