Totally interested in the vintage tool "updates" !! Love the craftsmanship & passion for excellence that went into making the tools , which tells us a lot about the people who used them !!

Seeing the various tools shows the history of tool engineering. I can not yell WOW ! ! loud enough for you to hear me. This is fascinating and I want to see more. Need a channel just for the tools. So much history in vintage tools which changed for the quality we have now, good or bad, you be the judge. Old tools have so much quality we do not see now. Can not wait to see more. THANKS BEN ! ! ! !

Ben. Id love to see a weekky video of you going to your store. Picking out one tool taking it to your shop and putting it to use once again. That would be so cool. Plus you get to add another tool to your shop every week. Its a win win for your shop and a win for us watching the video!

What I love about the tools is their intrinsic beauty and the marvelous craftsmanship the tool makers put into creating them. It's like the tool makers are challenging the end user to create something as beautiful with the tool as the tool is itself. Thanks for he show, Ben. Happy Christmas to you and yours. Cheers....

The only reason Ben has got this shop is that he realised (was made to) that he can't use them all. If there was any way he could play with all these beauties, none of them would leave his possession...I am damn sure about that:) Great video, refreshing change, and good to see another successful part of your life.

I'm deliciously happy, seeing this today! I need a better job, so I can afford to buy something- anything!- from Vintage Tool Shop. I did find a nice little stash of glorious old planes at my favorite store here in Cleveland, Tennessee (the Antiques Parlour, with dozens of individual sellers who rent out stalls and have the owner do the selling for them) that I've been hoping my room mate has taken notice of, and one of the packages under the tree might contain one. I will know in just 2 more days!

This was cool. It's not hard to imagine how each one has a story to tell, and how you might get caught up in them. By opening a shop and actually parting with some of them; and even using a few once in a while, you avoid ending up on an episode of "Hoarders." I like simple things that work, and it's amazing how effective and precise a simple tool can be.

Many thanks for a fantastic video, not just for the insight into some beautiful tools but also a completely unknown history of my surname (to me at least). You should absolutely have the occasional “what’s in the shop” videos. (Probably on its own VTS channel.)
I knew this small mom and pop DIY store, and above the stands all the walls were covered in vintage tools. The owner said it was his pension if he ever were to sell it. You'd love it, Ben, just the thing for you. Sadly the store is no more. I hope he got some good money for it, maybe even some of it made it your way? If you ever got a large collection from Nijmegen, the Netherlands, then it did make it your way. Or maybe he still has it, enjoying his collection as much as you do?

I would like to see more vintage tools especially if you can go into the history of them. My vintage tools are Stanley Planes from 1900 - 1920. There is nothing like a well made tool from the past to help make modern works of art. Thanks for sharing and I wish you and yours a very merry Christmas.

Get in touch with Bevan and Barker in Mansfield. It’s a garage that has just closed that has been open since the 50s. They may have a stuff you will be interested as it’s been family owned the entire time. They are only closing due to their age and the COVID health risks to them.

i love old tools! Over the last twenty years or so Ive collected or inherited so many its insane(or so they tell me). I love going to auctions in the US people practically give most away because no one wants the stuff, or knows nothing on how to use them. They'll come a day we wished we all had some fine old hand tools, robots taking over. Lol Thanks for sharing! And Merry Christmas to you and your family Ben. Cheers

@@CrimsonCustomGuitars Absolutely right. As a year old learner of the guitar I totally get the “Boutique” custom built thing over some of the mass produced names. I know the maker of Fylde guitars really tries his best to make his instruments affordable for musicians.Only yesterday I watched a video of two young teenage lads playing bluegrass on “Henderson” guitars. I asked how on earth could they afford the $25000 for these collectible guitars? And the reply was that Henderson himself doesn’t charge such money for youngsters and that it’s the second hand collectors market that has decided such a lofty price? Anyway I love what you’re doing and I sincerely hope you can keep going through such difficult times👏
