God, there is so little I can say about my love for this game. It is amazing to me how much it captivates me back to playing with each successive major update. Looking forward to trying these new challenges and attempting in this new build! Great job Bballjo, looking forward to more!

Yeah, I definitely think farming would at least be something to defray costs early, and the crops will only go on to lower the costs of your clothing production to boot. Definitely hope that construction bug is gone by the time it hits main. Once that is out, and free of major bugs like that, it's probably about time for me to start another republic - maybe one I'll even stick with through the rest of EA since it doesn't seem like there will be any remaining updates that would invalidate your cities.

oh lord, I also started playing this game recently and I have never seen such a well-thought-out city destruction, so far I'm starting it for the 10th time and only the realistic ones, other levels don't exist for me because it kills the fun, it's nice to watch, and I've already learned a lot, best regards: )

why not rotate clothing factory set for 90 degrees and place a farm dedicated right for clothing business? This will reduce distances. And simplify logistics a bit.

I'm looking into getting this game after watching a few series by different youtubers and I wonder how viable is it to use crops as a starting industry as you do not need workers to start producing and selling them and then after inviting workers turning them into food or fabrics to increase profits. What I'm getting at is would it be a good idea to build a farm even before you build a city?

Well ..it's a low value/high volume product, meaning it only makes sense exporting en masse (via train or ship), but the overall yield is pretty low, so you can, but just getting the infrastructure setup is very expensive and takes very long....it's generally better to start with high price/high volume, that just a few trucks can help you make money already.

I think it is the better way. You can even harvest in the first season a little. Want to try a double farm start next. It feels like advancing slow, but allows to avoid credit debts later. A large farm can fill an 8k ton grain storage worth about 200k Rubel per season. I was suprised that when i got food, alcohol and meat exporting, crop export still was on second place with sellings. You wont need a train. 3 or 4 trucks on a line can empty the sorage over a year. What may backfire is the delayed research due to a delayed city.

I'd love to see some pre-made road over rail bridges, and other pre-made junctions, rail and road in vanilla. Maybe that would help with the branching off of bridges and tunnels, that he said would be so difficult to implement, with the current game structure and snapping points?

Is it normal? Maybe you have an early access to that version. I can activate the research but it does nothing: I still have access to all the buildings and I can see the resources on the map. My advice would be to first try making a money-gaining republic on all easiest settings (including unlimited cash) and then slowly ramp up the difficulty with each subsequent republic, first make money limited, then maybe vehicles according to start date, power requirement etc. This way you'll not have to learn everything at once.

You can enable/disable certain parts before you start, so if you just wanna have fun and learn the ropes you can disable water/sewage management or power or education or crime…stuff like that! Like the other user said, you should focus on money generating industries first. You don’t even need to worry about mining every single resource. I think you can generate profit just by importing iron and coal and making steel, for example. 😊

Most important advice, run 2 games, 1 with whatever settings you feel you are ready for, and 1 sandbox to try out things if you are unsure how they work...then start small... first build a small settlement, and make it work until citizens are happy enough to stick around, then add an industry, and make that work, and then add more of each, building with construction offices is the most satisfying, but autobuild gets you going faster. Just play slow, always, a lot goes on all the time, that you should pay attention to. When starting out, play with the most money to start, and if you run out just add more with the CHEat menu....no money is good for plopping things down, but it's better if you see how the money flows to learn the game. I'd also recommend finding someone to follow along for getting going....this season has a couple things you won't need just yet, the previous one maybe better suited for you. There are other channels out there that have good let's plays too, just pick one you like. Good luck, don't fret, don't give up, it's worth the journey.

when starting new game just select 3-4 buildings and roads at time there will be no problems , you did also this in previous seasons you pump jobs for construction office so many jobs , i know you want to show everithing but you must build in phases . sorry for bad english :D

Customs houses really need to be non-blocking by default. Only allowing one vehicle moving in the building area is not reasonable.

You probably want to take the construction waste to a temporary dump just to recover it later. No reason to send it to the border to then get replacement gravel.

i dont know if the incline matters for trucks but you can make roads on much steeper hills now in the new update by putting them down in smaller increments

Yes, this is the experimental branch, not the test branch any player can opt into. The release is not too far off, though. It was announced for June.

I don't see what difference the experimental pathfinding makes since no matter how many lanes there are going into the customs office still only one vehicle drives around inside at a time, maybe if they had the three different roads going into three dedicated stalls it would make a difference, like it does for the rail connection.

Why customs work like that, when there are 3-4 free spaces available all the trucks need to wait for 1 to finish it loading/unloading and to leave so 1 truck can get it? Is it intentional or it has a limitation because it cant be fixed or something else?

It's the internal pathing....there are high capacity customs houses in the workshop... otherwise use medium size customs houses, they have the best road throughput.... personally, I like this inefficiency, because it makes me use other options (rail, ship, air) sooner, and I have to think about the bottlenecks

I hope they fixed the bug with short footpaths where they would just not be constructed if they’re really short. I’d have gravel footpaths sit for weeks at just 2-3 workdays until I’d cave and pay for it… Really annoying, and I’m glad to see roads are still buggy as all hell 😅

@@bballjo Yes, I’ve always found this to be occurring in my cities, and I typically build my cities around transit hubs (large bus stations or rails) for heavy industry starts. But I will say I’ve encountered it a LOT less in recent patches compared to 4-6 months ago.
