I would love to see a video like this on cherry trim and floors. I have a 120 yr old house in fabulous condition and I don't want to paint the wood trim, floors or cabinets, but could really use suggestions on what paint colors for the walls would go with cherry wood without making everything have a pinkish cast to it.

Great video- very helpful to people who are stuck with a wood color they can’t change. My favorite suggestion was the green and brown combo. Green is very popular right now and looks great with brown tones.

I have dark, expensive furniture in my bedroom. I have painted every main bedroom for my last three houses Ben Moore Yin Yang blue and ceiling Chantilly Lace this last time. Lots of natural light with the windows. It is such a pleasant color to awaken to

I love Winter Solstice and Decorators White! I’d love to hear suggestions for cool toned/dark grey wood floors! We are not fans of really warm toned colors, and we’re going for a modern farmhouse vibe, but I don’t want it to start to look cold, lifeless and harsh! Finding the right colors to keep things inviting and lively comfort while not being overly warm will be a challenge!

I had a house that had dark walnut for the cabinets. I painted the kitchen/dining area a soft green, thinking it would be nice. The cabinets looked dull and dark. When l repainted in prep for selling, l used CIL's macadamia nut, which is a soft butter yellow and those cabinets just came to life! I couldn't believe the difference. It's amazing the effect the wrong or right colour can have on your space. Thanks for the great videos!!

love the videos!!! our house has a lot of cherry and mahogany with low ceilings. It is a 1955 ranch. We have gold and autumn colors. I'm tired of 14 years of gold. Please help with a video for older homes to freshin up and look newer.

Gangsta Gran Yeah I sort of agree with you. I've always had a hard time with too much contrast between the wood and walls/trim. As a woodworker, I'm not a big fan of walnut stain.

I need a color video for multi colored rocks cemented in my basement going half way up the wall. The old owner of my home owned a rock company and he showcased a lot of them for customers in the home. Talking different shades of grey, beige, red, and off white stones. Some the size of golf balls and others the size of small laptop. I guess I could go white, but I would really like to go with an actual color. Basement has some light coming from south side wall. Bored with beiges, honestly. Found you guys though watching Nick Lewis. Love the content.

I'd like to know what paint colors, interior but especially exterior, are good for different climates--sunny, often overcast, moderate temps, severe mood swings of hot summer and cold winter.... In my town, where it is severely hot or cold but generally sunny and dry, there are quite a few lovely yellow houses, as well as apartment buildings, in various shades. They have white or in the case of the apts gray, trim and some have a chocolate brown accent such as shutters. I've been in other parts of the US with long, cold, snowy winters and cool summers where nobody uses yellow or warm colors, just white, gray, blue, or green. It makes me wonder why. No red like barns so it can't be they are only using barn paint. :)

I had dark wood floors and trim in my last house with soft yellow walls, similar to hawthorn yellow. It was cheery, warm, and welcoming. I loved it. It was easy to work with in terms of flexibility with accent colours, too, which is surprising.

I have honey oak trim throughout my house, doors windows and frames. We went with a darker flooring kinda multi colored with some lighter pieces. The problem or issue I have is deciding on paint colors. Im not sure if have to paint the doors and trim in order to select “say” use one of these options? I love all of them.

We have lovely dark trim original to our 1939 house, but our floors are going to be limewashed after I finish the repairs. I have a renter's hatred of griege and beige colors. Not a drop is going into my home.

I was nearly all set with the colors to pair with dark wood flooring, but then there was a last-minute change and now we are going to have “barnwood greige” floors (think grey-stained distressed wood look). Can you do a video about how to pair wall colors with floors like mine?

Hi Arden, the best shades will vary based on the undertones of your gray floors, your lighting and obviously, your taste, but some things to consider; cool tones, blues, navys, greeneiges, and of course whites will all look great. I'd avoid any greys that are too similar to the floors, but, darker shades of grey could certainly work. Just like walls, your best best is to get samples and compare. Hope that helps!
