As you can see, most of the locals have never been to the tourist spots in their area. Most of them do not have the luxury of time since they are helping their families in the farm or they are the ones left at home when their parents are at work. Some of them even work 24/7 just to make ends meet. I'm glad you brought them with you even for a short time. 😀

You're funny. Locals don't really consider mountain peaks near their area as tourist spots. It's the visitors who treat those peaks as tourist spots. Yes, locals may not have specifically gone to that particular peak because to them it's not something special. When I asked some locals who lived near the Badian Highlands if they ever have climbed any of the peaks (thousands of them) most of them said, 'There's nothing to see or do up there'. With thousands of peaks that Badian Highlands have, these locals can easily do that if they want to. Not because they don't have the luxury of time. In fact, they are some of the luckiest people to do things that we (urbanites) can't do due to our busy life working our ass off to earn a living.

if you want more scenic views while driving, you must go to cordillera, and drive around cordillera mountain roads, you will see more scenic views there, but be careful because you will driving around 1800m to 2500m above sea level, thats why its cold there.

Because most Filipinos are too shy to say no especially to a foreigner. Most Filipinos don't normally do that to a fellow Filipino unless they're close friends or visiting relatives. Most Westerners do that because they have superiority complex over other cultures especially from developing countries that raiding random homes is perfectly okay. Most Filipinos have very low self-esteem or feeling inferior to Westerners or Caucasians that they always say 'yes' to whatever the foreigners ask them to do, never mind if it will cost them time and break the tradition.

@@TheJourneyofJosh Raiding homes whether solicited or unsolicited among Filipinos is not normal and frowned upon as it is a sign of being rude or disrespect unless you're a close friend or relative. Even if you're a close friend, an invitation from the host is still a requisite. In the Philippines, among local Filipinos, a close friend or relative doesn't even do that out of respect if the host doesn't invite him to enter his/her home. I hope you won't do that again next time wherever you go in the Philippines. Never ever solicit to enter the home of the locals. Because most local Filipinos, culturally, feel inferior to foreigners especially Caucasians who speak foreign language (English, Japanese, Chinese, etc.) so they are too embarrassed to say NO.

"Ampalaya" is a Tagalog term, whereas "Paliya" is the Cebuano equivalent for Bitter Gourd. The specimen that the young girl was slicing and the one that you sampled in its raw form. Bitter Gourd is typically deep-fried, often accompanied by eggs, or incorporated into fried vegetable dishes. I am grateful for your amiable nature and willingness to engage with my fellow countrymen. Visit SIquijor island, it's a neighboring island of Bohol, Cebu and Negros. These four islands are part of Region 7 - Central Visayas.

Deep fried? In my whole life, it's my first time to know someone deep frying a bitter gourd. So how does it taste a deep-friend bitter gourd, if I may ask? Is it as tasty as a deep-friend chicken or chicharon? I have never seen a deep-fried bitter gourd yet in restaurants. The most common preparation for bitter gourd that I always see in carenderia and restaurants is stir fried with egg.

Don't be silly. Mt Apo is not a tourist spot. It is a peak that only mountaineers or mountain climbers with technical skills can climb. It takes hours or even days to reach its peak that regular tourists don't bother to do.
