Good video, I like that idea for hoisting the bags into the dumpster.

Secure the dumpster. Run pullys from the winch to the rail system/down. Does away with the come along. Your not picking anything up heavier than a dumpster. I like it

I went into the comment section to suggest this exactly same Rick set up just using existing cable

You could also make a hydraulic lever to lift up the carriage and then have it roll back on its own. Two rams, one on each side lifting the frame and the bag dumpster lifts and rolls in,

I’m loving all these ideas and fabrication. I wonder if a “log arch” set up would work? I’m debating doing that on my non roll off dump trailer. If you were to fab something like that for your trailer could you use a roller at the leading edge of dumpster like someone else had mentioned? Or maybe secure a snatch block off the gooseneck frame? I’d hate to see you cut holes into your bins if you don’t have to. I’ve never used a dumpster bag so I don’t know how durable they are. Could they be drug up a ramp without tearing? If so maybe a pair of folding ATV ramps. Never used them but I’ve heard they’re light. You’re the brother I never had. We seem to have a lot of the same ideas for making things faster/efficient. I’ll close with a random tip for you or anyone else. Keep magnets on trucks/trailers. They’re super handy for many things, including holding a strap in place while you go to the other side to tighten it.

you can get hoists that work off cordless drills too. you can get aluminum I beams or extruded aluminum. 80/20 sells extruded aluminum and if you tell them what you want to do they can tell you what you need for your project, you might have to send them pics so they can visualize

Love the ingenuity, I have a crane scale for my setup, just to be sure of weight. i picked up almost a ton bag full of shingles, dump fees are $220 a ton in my area, so weight adds up quick. I include .5 tons for my pickup i can charge customer right at there house if over weight.
@MyMrGarrett Жыл бұрын
The scale is on the truck/trailer?
@ethanking4954 Жыл бұрын
220 a ton where are you located?
@BentIronBins Жыл бұрын
Hmmm you’re on the right track. I like the idea of offering bags. You can either supply bags or offer to pick up competitions bag cheaper than there price to dump im sure. Maybe a small jib crane on the truck.
@epena23 Жыл бұрын
Great design. But a electric harbor freight winch welded at the front of the jig to a stationary point in the back just to lift the bag. Then transfer the bag while suspended to the slider...

I would try and make the rear support tall enough for you to close the tailgate. This would also give you some downward slope on the beam, to help "ROLL" the bags up front. Another "Rolling Opp".

Look at log pivots for trailers. Essentially an A frame that lifts and pivots with a winch

I'm looking into Dura-Haul roll off trailer. But the flatbed isn't available as of yet. Do you haul your mini excavator with your roll off with a flatbed?
@rollingops Жыл бұрын
I haven't yet! But I plan tonadd a flatbed soon. I use the flatbed tilt trailer I have for moving shipping containers for now. But the roll off version is def on my list

I would definitely get it set up so that you can back your truck and box under a aframe set up that has a electric hoist on it with a few slings to mount and un mount it.
@RYEDAYFRIDAY Жыл бұрын
Was gonna say put the back support higher so when you put the bin down it slides forward by itself
@rollingops Жыл бұрын
It actually naturally does that because of the way the dumpster is angled on the trailer when loaded! But solid point!

I’d put like a socket and a impact for the crank up and down
@shantyshacker4849 Жыл бұрын
You should have made it go into the pockets and then you can pin it in the pockets
@rollingops Жыл бұрын
We actually thought about that. But only half of our dumpsters had pockets. And we wanted to make it easier to "slide" back on the dumpster so it's not hanging out while we drive. But for a permanent setup. Absolutely

Put the rail system higher at the back like12” higher, that way it it want to slide to the front easier
@MacsDisposalLLC Жыл бұрын
Careful, if your welds fail that rail is smacking you right in the head. Maybe just run your winch with a tow rope over your bin and pull the bag into the trailer once it’s pitched properly you pull the bag in possibly even use a piece of plywood as a small ramp and level the bin and keep pulling the winch in and bam your bag is in the bin. Just an idea!
@rollingops Жыл бұрын
Yep, that is def a concern. That would def knock someone silly

Need to make an A frame that can lift and lower your setup on to the dump trailer

What about the winch idea and just dragging it in?
@rollingops Жыл бұрын
It's def still an idea we have drawn up, but we need to cut into a dumpster to do it! So until we have enough inventory to dedicate one dumpster to it, we are holding off. By the weekend, every dumpster is out. This allows us to just remove the "rack" and rent it out

Get a small electric winch that you can connect/disconnect easily to trailer battery instead of hand crank.

I love the new inventions you come up with! Awesome video! You should at least get them pattoned! Or what if you figured out a way to use the winch cable to pull it up high enough and then slide it in 🤔🤔🤔🤔 because that's a lot of cranking 😅
@rollingops Жыл бұрын
So I have thought of a way to use the winch for sure! But it will require someone to cut a hole in a dumpster!
@rollingops Жыл бұрын
Ideally like a trap door that you can easily run the cable and hook through. And then close it up when you're done using it!
@atslawncare Жыл бұрын
@@rollingops or you could weld( nice welds lol) a roller (pulley) wheel to the top of the dumpster where the cable would sit inside of it..oh nevermind......I forgot the beam sits below the wall.... I wish I could draw a picture or find one and send to ya....now I'm invested in trying to help you figure it out
@tomcat5986 Жыл бұрын
@@rollingops I'm just thinking now if we are on the same page, not to cut a hole in the dumpster if the winch is mounted on the front end of the dumpster (between the truck and dumpster) you can fab up a plate to weld permanently to the side of it and have the fairlead just come up above the top rail and using a snatch block on the end of the trolley. Make any sense? Not sure if you planned on using a winch you had already or purchasing a new one. If you purchased a new one get one on a plate already and have a 2.5" receiver end on it. Then instead of welding a plate to the dumpster you could weld the female end of the 2.5" receiver to the dumpster. This way you pull a pin and can remove the winch quickly.
@rollingops Жыл бұрын
@thomas smith 100% thought the same as well. What keegan and I realized very quickly though, is at the moment, we can't just dedicate one dumpster to be our "bag dumpster" because usually by the weekend, we need all our dumpsters out. Buttt, as we grow a little more dumpster inventory, one of these similar ideas will probably become permanent. The removalable "rack" setup works for us because we can always yank it off and still rent out the dumpster quickly.
@tommydomino28708 ай бұрын
I have drove a roll off truck for over 10 years and that's a lot of work I think its a bad idea because we're every you have to dump it its still going to be same price to dump it it will hard to make any money and its my opinion hope everything goes good for the company
@tufffireguy Жыл бұрын
Why not use your winch on your trailer to pull the bags on? Run a pulley at each end of the dumpster and get the same affect?
@tufffireguy Жыл бұрын
I actually think the front pulley being on the rail will automatically roll into the dumpster while pulling it in
@rollingops Жыл бұрын
100% but to make it work, I need to cut a hole in the dumpster. This way we can slap it on any dumpster and remove it when we don't need it or need to rent all our dumpsters! But if we need a permanent setup, that's 100% the idea.
@tufffireguy Жыл бұрын
@RollingOps attach a custom fab pulley over the front top edge of the dumpster, I'm sure with your welding skills you could make something that just sits on top, maybe clamps on temporarily, maybe a bracket that hangs over both sides like 6 or 8 inches to it cant rock and the pulley welded to the top... that way it's easy to remove when you don't need it.
