I'm finally picking up my Dachschund, Mia, from the Emergency Veterinary Hospital where she had surgery due to a dog bite. She spent 3 nights away from home and I'm so happy to have her back and getting her back to normal.

Give Mia unconditional love every chance you get. I just had to put to sleep my 12 1/2 year old Dachshund (Hans) last week. He was my best friend. I am devastated. It was the hardest thing I ever had to do. He was diagnosed with heart disease 2 years ago and given 2 years to live. He was on heart meds every day, twice a day. He was definitely spoiled his last 2 years of his life. Two weeks ago he stopped eating, took him to the vet and he was having kidney failure. He stopped drinking water and I could tell he was suffering. I knew deep down the end was near. It's great to see you both co-parenting Mia. Hugs to all! Steve

Speedy recovery Mia ❤❤ The drain and attached reservior is call a Jackson-Pratt drainage system, it helps to prevent build up fluid in the operative site. It is use in human patients as well, most importantly keep the area dry and clean

It is called a Jackson Pratt drain. We use they all the time with surgical patients that have small amount of drainage from wounds, or incisions.

Awww so happy she is home. It’s horrible seeing fur family unwell. I had a cat lose a leg after being hit by a car and it was horrific. But weeks later he healed well and lived until 21 years old. Speedy recovery to Mia

They have inflatable collars to dogs that is a good sub for the cone of shame. She can eat a lot easier & she can use it as a pillow too. We used it on our little man after he had to have surgery.
