I'm happy for you Ted. I just had a double lung transplant. Haven't flown in 2 months. I'm trying hard to get into flying shape by Aug 1st or thereabouts. I'm ELSA so as long as I can drive a car I can fly. I know what you've been going through with all this waiting. Congrats!!

I have been following your journey bit by bit, mostly on flying tips. Really enjoy it all. Was wondering what prompted the new engine? Did you upgrade the power? I am 72 and have had some health issues trying to get back in the air.
@Over50andLearningToFly3 жыл бұрын
The old engine had about 1850 hours on it and I had already replaced two cylinders on it so basically anything I was going to do to it it wasn’t going to get better and it was just time. It wasn’t only the hours but the engine was about 25 years old so it really did need to be replaced - that’s fantastic get back into the air and don’t let the health problems get in your way you can overcome! Thanks for watching!

Hi there! Am I correct that you were planning to sell this plane (or already did)? And that you were going to get another plane? Any updates on that?

Hey my O360 is up in Wisconsin for the overhaul..since last time we exchanged messages...question what cylinders did you install? are these Lycoming overhauled or??? i hear that for Lycoming there is a long wait and are backordered due to Covid.....I have opted to get brand new Superior Millennium Cyl they came very much recommended by my mechanic... Last question...did they run the engine at the overhaul shop?
@Over50andLearningToFly3 жыл бұрын
Yes I got the millennium cylinders and they did run the engine for a couple hours at the shop and he said it ran great I am really psyched to get this thing going and I should be back up in the air late next week. Thanks for watching!

@@Over50andLearningToFly yes i understand, even if this market it is super crazy and it favors sellers (you easily can sell high but still have to buy another one) ...honestly I am in your same situation with a solid low TT aircraft with a brand new engine...i will not sell, I also did the 2 G5's and GNC355 this past February...don't need anything else...mmm maybe a garmin autopilot :) (always need something to upgrade LOL)!!!!

Great to get your engine at last. I would have had now baffle seals fitted as the one there look a bit old (might just be dirt), as I would want to ensure the cooling was perfect with my new engine.
