Been using Cat equipment for 45 yrs think you will love the new 315. But better do some looking into the tie down points I don't believe the steps are for lifting or tie down , that arrow sticker is a balance point they lift thru the track frame not the step check it out good luck anyway

I noticed you guys talking about one side of the still bar being worn down more than the other. I worked with a arborist from BC here in ontario for a few years, and he told me an industry secret. Still bars have oil ports on both sides meaning that you should be flipping the bar over ever time you sharpen the chain. I started doing that and my bars last so much longer!

Those steps aren’t the engineered lifting point, the undercarriage is.. still probably good for tie down… grab some shackles for those frame tie downs and leave them on machine. Way easier… beauty machine tho 👌

Actually the steps on dozers and excavators are tie downs per the manufacturers.

Not to be that guy but those aren’t the lifting points. That tag is indicating a lift point but by going between the track and under the frame. Best thing would be to get some shackles to use the tie down spots you wanted to use.

You can just put foundry hooks on one end of the chain so you can hook into the tie down point to make like a little easier👍🏻 super nice machine

Hey man I just wanted to start off by saying great video and great work and thanks for making the time to get one up. The other thing that I have to say is more of a question, I wanted to ask you when you got your old truck when you told it for the gmc but you said in one of your old old videos that your the type of guy to say before you buy something you say to yourself “Is this going to make me more money?” I don’t understand when you said that back then but now you are spending thousands of dollars to get a machine painted that WILL NOT MAKE YOU ANY MORE MONEY NOT ONE PENNY. The machines that you guys get are very very nice until you paint them. You can get a machine and do whatever you want with it but I’m sure if you ask anyone who operates equipment they would say that they look worse than Cat yellow. That is not my choice I do not control what you do with your equipment I’m not mad at you I’m not yelling at you, I just asked that question and I wanted to see what you had to say about that is this going to make me more money thing.
