I have one now. Tip overs are common. Depending on how the bike is laying, I sometimes can pick it up. I did get caught once where I couldn’t lift it. I had to wait 45 minutes for someone to come alone and help.

I would think that would be a must for of roading. Especially solo. Great video.

There is another comparable to this one called the MotoBikeJack.Same principle but comes with a very wide foot and is made of steel so I assume it's a fair bit heavier.They also suggest lifting the bike from the frame not the handlebar.Handmade in Norfolk Virginia they say.Price is slightly higher I think but not much.$228.00 plus $24.70 postage

Simple and neat. Should also keep a foot on the base so it doesn’t kick out.
@floridajim2 жыл бұрын
Probably a good idea, especially if it's on the road. I'd stand to the side doing that, so that if it does kick out anyway you won't get hit.

Mine came in really useful once during the Hoka Hey, allowed me to quickly get the bike back up without having to unpack 2-weeks worth of camping gear. Once you get the hang of it its fast.

There are a few different makes of those around, can i suggest a little spray grease/ chainlube on the friction parts of the ratchet mechanism for an easier life?

probably a good idea.

Back when I was running Jeeps I used to use my Hi-Lift for all sorts of things besides picking up my Jeep. I have to wonder if there's some way to use it for other ways of getting stuck besides falling down.

Running the strap to the sky-facing part of the frame would have added a lot of tension to the strap. I guess if you can't get to the frame that is on the dirt then you don't have much choice.

And that was a worst case lift, with the jack below the bike. If the jack was level with the bike it would have moved it another 4-6".

Have you had anymore issues with the bike not starting?harley tech told me rhcm fault code came up on mine there is a ground issue in the harness pins where start button is and alot of pan americas have this problem
@floridajim2 жыл бұрын
Yes (I mentioned it in the Jinxed video). After the update during my 15,00 mile service I had several cases where I would hit the start button and absolutely nothing would happen. The only thing that worked was to shut it off and wait 10 minutes, then it would fire right up every time. The most recent update (the one from the Screen changes video) fixed that, but I've noticed something different. If my bike sits out overnight in the cold it really cranks slow and has a hard time starting. This is a serious problem for the Hoka Hey, where I'll be sleeping outdoors with my bike for a week and need it to start in the morning. When I get it sorted out I'll post something.

Someone sent me a comment "You'll need it on the Hoka Hey" and for some reason it got held for review, then I accidentally deleted it while trying to approve it. Anyway, I'm bringing it, but I hope I don't need it too often.
