I always find it funny that Puck and Rudeus have the same VA haha. On this journey I go along as an anime only spectator, I don't want to mess up with some extra info and have a reader jump in to correct me on any details lol

Embarrassingly enough... I must say I didn't notice this. My excuse would be that I was used to hearing the VA deepen her voice to replicate an older Rudeus, as for Puck obliviously it's higher pitched in tone.

12:47 When I see these possessions 12:45 I remember steins;gate and okabe. Classic funny awkwardness. The endings and ops of re:zero are all very good, maybe there is one bad one. But most are excellent.

Ahhh yes Steins; Gate. Truly it's a top 5 anime for me when it comes to nostalgia! I can now see a bit of resemblence by how they act. I wonder if Suburu is a charinoboyu (as I finally understand this term!). I did like the OP!

My view on re:Zero. It's just that if the guy wants an intelligent prota like Lelouch, cold like Ayanokouji, talented like Rudeus or "perfect" like Sung Jin Woo (solo leveling), he won't find it. He is an ordinary protagonist who had no friends and wants attention. He saw this world more to find his love.

Why the directors cut over the broadcast version? I think the broadcast version is better. The way cliffhangers hook you and get you hyped for the next episode makes for a better experience. Also, everyone in the Re Zero community remembers the most impactful episodes by its episode number. Specifically Episode 15 and Episode 18 "From Zero". Everyone talk about ep 18 as if it was common knowledge. You're gonna mess this all up.

HE BROUGHT EPISODE 3 OR MY GOD. Have you watched the cyberpunk anime? When it came out, I was watching a video about it, and a comment said exactly what I thought of the protagonist when I watched it. "It's funny that David's story is about how he's not special and how knowing that and recognizing your limits can take you higher than being ignorant. David ignores the warnings and installs Sandevistan on him, which is extremely compatible with him and makes him feel unique, and in fact he had a high compatibility with Chrome, but his decision to do everything alone and carry other people's dreams made him not chase what mattered to him, like tell me: What is David's dream? Going to the moon is Lucy's dream and the gang was Mayne's, not his. David had no dream or desire, he only carried the wishes of others. If he had recognized his limits and not installed more chrome in his body he would have lasted. more or even lived life without feeling the effects of cyberpsychosis, it's a shame he didn't realize what really made him special. What probably makes people give the anime a low rating, for me is that the anime inserted a lot of characters and had few episodes to adapt everything, so they included the mega narcissistic protagonist, who wants to satisfy and serve everyone, including his mother was introduced and in the end, her role was useless. He did the opposite of what she thought and had consequences for it. Cyberpunk is about people opposite to me.

Funny enough, I actually watched Cyberpunk: Edgerunners not too long ago. I couldn't believe when it won the Crunchyroll awards back in 2022 (I believe). Since then, I've been wanting to watch it, but kept delaying it. Safe to say it was a mistake to binge the entire thing for two reasons. It would have been an excellent series to react to, and also the anime hits you very very very hard.... and it was a lot to take in. Expanding on what you said, I'd agree David had no dream of his own. I can't say if it was like this is entire life, but from where the story started, David was carrying out the wishes of others. His mother wished him to be the top of Araska. Lucy wished to go to the moon. I think David found purpose and got satisfaction from carrying out those dreams. When his mother died, David no longer pursued schooling as it would have been pointless in his mind. He was walking with no goal or purpose. It wasn't until his classmate beat him up where it struck motivation for him to get stronger so he could enact revenge. This would lead into the chain of events. David meeting Lucy, then Mayne. Becoming a cyberpunk and gaining a new "family" of sorts. To me the story is perfect as to how it was intended to be written. Short and precise to the point. Telling David's story and the type of person he is. Granted everyone is different and people probably would have done things different, but that is what makes everyone unique.

@@LykesonRose It's a good anime, I don't like David. He has a very strong narcissism and is very ignorant. I would have to watch it again to see what I think was really bad, but what really irritated me the most was the characters. The anime made me finish cyberpunk, this shows that it is a good anime. Although my build was extremely stolen and I was killing everyone too far.

White the light novel is way better in my opinion the anime is pretty good
